Description Burns & McDonnell India (BMI) is seeking a driven Civil Engineer to support complex, US-based industrial, environmental, and infrastructure projects. This role sits within our Environmental (ENS) Division, which delivers site civil, utilities, drainage, remediation, solid waste and resource recovery facilities, stormwater management structures, water/wastewater systems and other infrastructure solutions for industrial facilities, energy-related sites, and public-sector clients across the United States.

This role will focus on civil engineering design projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, StormCAD, Engineering Calculation templates, etc., while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary US project teams. Experience with MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer is a plus. Our portfolio spans linear infrastructure development—including electric transmission, substations, and natural gas transmission and supporting stations—utility‑scale solar projects, nuclear power work, commercial site development, and Maintenance of Traffic planning.



Many assignments closely align with the technical skill sets used in oil and gas, petrochemical, and heavy industrial environments, giving engineers a explicit pathway to advance across diverse markets.

Responsibilities

Perform civil and environmental design from conceptual development through detailed design and construction support, including grading, utilities, drainage, and site development.
Develop and review design drawings such as site layouts, grading plans, excavation drawings, road plans and profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
Support site civil design for facilities such as solid waste infrastructure, stormwater systems, resource recovery facilities, and water/wastewater-related structures.
