Job Summary

The Agricultural Machinery Mechanic (Sugarcane Equipment Specialist) is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sugarcane farming equipment including sugarcane planters, ratoon managers, and disc ploughs. The role ensures all machinery operates efficiently to support planting, field preparation, and ratoon crop management.

Key Responsibilities1. Sugarcane Planters
Inspect and repair seed metering systems
Adjust row spacing and depth control mechanisms
Troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical drive systems
Calibrate planting rate and alignment systems
Ratoon Managers
Service stubble shavers and residue management systems
Repair fertilizer side-dressing mechanisms
Maintain soil loosening and tillage components
Inspect hydraulic cylinders and control systems
Ensure proper alignment for ratoon crop maintenance
Disc Ploughs
Replace worn or damaged discs and bearings
Adjust plough depth and angle settings
Service frame assemblies and hitch systems
Repair mechanical and hydraulic lifting systems




Inspect and maintain soil penetration components

General Duties
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal servicing
Conduct field breakdown repairs during planting or harvesting seasons
Maintain spare parts inventory for sugarcane equipment
Keep accurate service and maintenance records
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards

Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical certification in Agricultural Machinery / Heavy Equipment Mechanics
Solid knowledge of hydraulic systems and diesel-powered machinery
Experience working with sugarcane farming equipment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical diagrams
Welding and fabrication skills (preferred)
Ability to work in field conditions and under tight seasonal deadlines

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
