A Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working setting by implementing safety policies, monitoring compliance, and reducing workplace hazards. They play a key role in preventing accidents and promoting health and safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement workplace health & safety policies
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
Identify hazards and suggest corrective actions
Ensure compliance with safety laws and regulations
Conduct safety training and awareness programs for employees
Investigate accidents/incidents and prepare reports
Maintain safety records and documentation
Monitor use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Coordinate emergency response drills (fire, evacuation, etc.)
Liaise with management and regulatory authorities
Required Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field
Certification like NEBOSH / IOSH (preferred)
Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
Skills Required:
