Role Overview The Service Delivery Manager will own strategic delivery and operational management for enterprise data modernization programs built on Cloudera Data Platform (CDP). This role combines program leadership, technical oversight of the CDP ecosystem, and operational accountability for ETL pipelines (primarily Informatica). The incumbent ensures secure, compliant, resilient, and high‑performance data operations while driving migrations, platform improvements, and business outcomes.

Core Responsibilities — Platform Operations and Reliability

- Platform Operations: Oversee day‑to‑day administration of CDP clusters; ensure performance, availability, and scalability across environments (dev/test/prod).
- Incident Management: Lead production support, on‑call rotations, incident response, RCA, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitoring and Alerting: Define and implement proactive monitoring, SLAs, SLOs, and alerting for CDP components and ETL pipelines.
- Patch, Upgrade and Security Management: Coordinate platform and ETL patching, upgrades, and security hardening with minimal business disruption.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Define RTO/RPO targets, implement backup and recovery strategies, and run periodic DR tests.
- Operational Automation: Drive automation of repetitive tasks using CI/CD, orchestration, and infrastructure as code to reduce toil and increase reliability.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Maintain operational controls, access governance, and evidence for audits and regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities — Program Delivery and Technical Oversight:

- Program Delivery Leadership: Plan,



prioritize, and deliver CDP modernization projects aligned to business OKRs and regulatory timelines; manage program timelines, and deliverables.
- Architecture and Technical Guidance: Provide technical oversight for architecture, design, and implementation across Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Kudu, and related components.
- ETL Integration and Optimization: Oversee design, performance tuning, and operationalization of Informatica workflows and integrations with CDP.
- Migration Execution: Lead migrations from legacy platforms (for example Greenplum) to CDP, including cutover planning, data validation, and rollback strategies.
- Data Governance and Security: Enforce data access controls, lineage, classification, and auditability in collaboration with governance teams.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify program risks, define mitigation plans, and escalate appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as primary point of contact for senior stakeholders and business owners.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and coordinate cross‑functional teams of data engineers, architects, SREs, and operations specialists; define roles, KPIs, and career development paths.

Technical Skills and Experience:

- Proven delivery experience as a Delivery Manager, Program Manager, or equivalent on large data platform initiatives.
- Deep CDP expertise including hands‑on familiarity with Cloudera Private Cloud and CDP components.




- Core platform technologies: Apache Hive; Impala; Apache Spark (batch and streaming); Spark Streaming or Structured Streaming; Apache Kafka; Apache Kudu.
- Cluster administration tools: Cloudera Manager and related operational tooling.
- ETL expertise: Robust, hands‑on experience with Informatica (design, performance tuning, operationalization).
- Operational excellence: Proven skills in monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, upgrades, and DR.
- Scripting and automation: Experience with CI/CD, orchestration tools, and automation frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, Airflow, Ansible, Terraform).
- Reporting tools: Familiarity with SAP BusinessObjects or equivalent BI/reporting tools.

Leadership, Communication and Qualifications:

- Stakeholder and vendor management: Strong ability to engage senior business and IT stakeholders and manage vendor relationships.
- Program management skills: Experience with program governance, roadmap planning, financial tracking, and delivery reporting.
- People leadership: Experience leading cross‑functional technical teams, hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Education and certifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications (Cloudera, Informatica, PMP/Prince2, ITIL) are advantageous.
- Experience in regulated industries (BFSI, Telecom etc) with strong audit and compliance exposure.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data security tooling.
- Track record of driving cost optimization and operational maturity improvements.
