Position: Embedded Firmware Engineer – Automotive ECU & RTOS
Experience: 3 to 8 Years
Location: Bangalore
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and test production embedded firmware for automotive ECUs.
- Develop low-level firmware for 32-bit ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
- Develop and optimize firmware in RTOS environments, managing timing, concurrency, and resource constraints.
- Perform MCU/device bring-up and debug firmware on real hardware.
- Develop Power-On Self-Test (POST), Built-In Self-Test (BIST), memory tests, and hardware diagnostic functions.
- Implement controlled power-up, shutdown, sleep, and wake-up sequences while meeting power and quiescent-current requirements.
- Develop fault detection, fault handling, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and safe-state mechanisms.
- Develop CPU, communication, and memory load/stress-test functions for system validation and characterization.
- Implement and monitor CAN and Ethernet communication, including error, link-fault, cable-fault, and CRC/signal-integrity detection.
- Develop firmware interfaces for SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Implement and support TCP/UDP networking and UDS diagnostics.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, platform, and test engineers during bring-up, debugging, validation, and deployment.
Must-Have Technical Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on embedded firmware development experience.
- Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++.
- Strong experience with 32-bit ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS, preferably FreeRTOS.
- Strong knowledge of SPI, UART, I2C, and CAN.
- Experience with Ethernet and TCP/UDP.
- Experience with UDS automotive diagnostics.
- Valuable understanding of DTCs, diagnostic sessions, and tester communication.
- Working knowledge of Python for tooling, automation, or testing.
- Strong hardware debugging and low-level troubleshooting skills.
