Senior Windows Infrastructure & Backup Administrator

Location: Hyderabad (Immediate Joiners only)

Experience: 8 –12+ years

Salary: ₹20 LPA – ₹30 LPA, depending on experience and expertise

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Windows Infrastructure & Backup Administrator to take ownership of enterprise server infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery, storage, virtualization, and critical infrastructure operations.

This is a senior, hands-on infrastructure role requiring extensive experience managing enterprise Windows environments, VMware platforms, backup solutions, storage infrastructure, and disaster recovery environments.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing complex production infrastructure , troubleshooting critical issues, ensuring high availability, and driving infrastructure stability, security, performance, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Server Infrastructure

- Manage and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments .
- Perform installation, configuration, administration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Manage physical and virtual server infrastructure supporting critical applications.
- Monitor server health, performance, resource utilization, and capacity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical infrastructure incidents and outages.
- Ensure high availability and stability of infrastructure services.

Active Directory & Identity Management

- Administer Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) .
- Manage Group Policies (GPOs), Organizational Units (OUs), DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
- Manage security groups, service accounts, permissions, and delegated administration.
- Perform access management and privilege reviews.
- Maintain secure and compliant identity infrastructure.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

- Take ownership of enterprise backup and disaster recovery environments .
- Manage Veeam Backup & Replication and Microsoft backup solutions.




- Manage database backups and storage snapshot technologies.
- Design and maintain backup policies, retention schedules, and recovery procedures.
- Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot backup failures.
- Manage backup repositories and immutable backup storage .
- Maintain offsite and disaster recovery copies of critical data.
- Conduct restoration testing and recovery validation.
- Ensure backup environments meet required RPO and RTO objectives.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery plans and conduct DR drills.

Storage Infrastructure

- Manage enterprise SAN, NAS, and storage environments .
- Monitor storage utilization, performance, and growth.
- Perform capacity planning and storage optimization.
- Manage RAID configurations, LUN provisioning, and storage performance.
- Maintain storage redundancy and data protection mechanisms.

Virtualization

- Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, clusters, and virtual machines .
- Administer VMware lifecycle management.
- Configure and manage HA, DRS, vMotion, vCenter, and virtual networking .
- Perform VM provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and optimization.
- Monitor virtualization performance and resource utilization.

Infrastructure Security

- Implement Windows Server security best practices and hardening.
- Perform vulnerability remediation and security hardening.
- Manage Microsoft Defender and endpoint protection.
- Maintain privileged access controls and administrative security standards.
- Support security audits and compliance requirements.

Monitoring & Capacity Management

- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and service health.




- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting.
- Analyze infrastructure trends and recommend improvements.
- Conduct capacity planning across servers, storage, virtualization, and backup.
- Ensure infrastructure scalability and operational resilience.

Required Experience & Expertise Extensive hands-on enterprise infrastructure experience is essential.

- 8–12+ years of experience managing enterprise Windows infrastructure.
- 5+ years of solid hands-on experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery.
- Extensive experience managing Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.
- Strong expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PowerShell, and Windows Failover Clustering .
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, and vMotion .
- Extensive experience with Veeam Backup & Replication .
- Strong experience with backup repositories, immutable storage, backup monitoring, and recovery testing.
- Solid experience with SAN, NAS, RAID, storage provisioning, and capacity management .
- Experience managing 24x7 production environments .
- Proven ability to independently manage critical infrastructure with minimal supervision.
- Robust troubleshooting experience across Windows, virtualization, storage, backup, and infrastructure environments.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as PRTG, ManageEngine, SolarWinds, or Microsoft System Center .
- Strong understanding of server hardening, vulnerability management, security baselines, and access control.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering , or a related discipline.
- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

Preferred Certifications

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent.
- VMware VCP or Microsoft Hyper-V certification.
- ITIL Foundation .
- Backup/DR certifications such as Veeam certifications.
