Position: Plant head/: Rolling Mill
nLocation: Durgapur, West Bengal
nExperience: 15 Years relevant experience (overall max 25 years experience)
nQualification: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering preferred.
nJob Purpose
nTo lead and manage the Rolling Mill operations by ensuring optimum production, maximizing yield, reducing power and consumable costs, maintaining product quality, ensuring safe working practices, minimizing equipment downtime, and achieving maximum mill utilization while meeting production targets.
nCandidate Profile
nWe are looking for candidates with strong experience in managing large-scale steel rolling mill operations with hands-on exposure to production, process optimization, and team management. Robust understanding of rolling processes, Horizontal & Vertical Rolling Stands, Roll Pass Design, Roll Setting, Stand Alignment, Guide Adjustment, and Process Optimization is required.
nMandatory: The candidate MUST have experience independently heading a rolling mill plant with BOTH vertical and horizontal rolling stand.




nKey Roles & Responsibilities
n1. Production Management

- Plan and execute daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to achieve targets.n
- Monitor rolling parameters, optimize operations, and ensure smooth coordination with SMS, Maintenance, Quality, Dispatch, and Planning teams.n

n2. Yield Improvement

- Monitor rolling yield, identify losses, and implement corrective actions.n
- Optimize billet utilization, reduce crop losses/wastage, and drive continuous improvement for better metal recovery.n

n3. Power Consumption Control

- Monitor specific power consumption (kWh/MT) and implement energy-saving initiatives.n
- Improve equipment efficiency by coordinating with Electrical and Utility teams.n

n4. Store & Consumables Management
