Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP Business Analyst to support a large-scale data transformation programme involving the migration and modernisation of data and reporting workloads from SAP systems into Microsoft Azure and Databricks.

The primary focus of this role is SAP functional and data analysis rather than technical development. The candidate should have a strong understanding of SAP business processes, underlying data and reporting requirements across areas such as Supply Chain Management, Finance, Procurement and Ariba, Human Resources and SuccessFactors, and other corporate functions.

The candidate should also understand the SAP BW environment and SAP reporting tools such as SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Analytics Cloud. This includes a valuable understanding of analytical reporting, dashboards, KPIs, data models and how SAP operational data is transformed into business reports.

The role will act as the bridge between client business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, converting business discussions into structured requirements that can be implemented on Azure and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage with business stakeholders to understand SAP processes, data, reports, dashboards and analytical requirements.
- Facilitate requirements workshops across functional areas such as Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, HR and Corporate functions.
- Translate client discussions into formal business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and process flows.




- Understand how business transactions and master data are captured within SAP and used for downstream reporting.
- Analyse existing SAP BW, SAP BO and SAP SAC reports, dashboards, KPIs, data models and dependencies.
- Work with stakeholders to identify critical reports, enhancement requirements and opportunities for report rationalisation.
- Define report calculations, filters, business rules, measures, dimensions and expected outputs.
- Support source-to-target data mapping and ensure that business meaning and reporting logic are retained during migration.
- Work closely with data architects, data engineers, developers and reporting teams to explain functional requirements.
- Review proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with agreed business and reporting requirements.
- Identify requirement gaps, data dependencies, assumptions, risks and potential business impacts.
- Prepare test cases, test scenarios, expected results and requirements traceability documentation.
- Support data reconciliation, report validation, system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
- Coordinate with business users to validate results, manage defects and obtain formal sign-off.
- Maintain traceability from the original business requirement through implementation, testing and acceptance.

Required Experience and Skills

- Minimum 8 years of experience as an SAP Business Analyst, SAP Functional Consultant or in a similar role.
- Strong functional understanding of SAP business processes and data across one or more of the following areas:
- Supply Chain Management
- Finance and Controlling
- Procurement and SAP Ariba




- Human Resources and SAP SuccessFactors
- Corporate and management reporting
- Strong understanding of SAP data, including master data, transactional data, reporting structures and business rules.
- Good understanding of the SAP BW environment and its role in enterprise data warehousing and reporting.
- Experience working with SAP reporting and analytics tools, particularly SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Understanding of analytical reports, management dashboards, KPIs, measures, dimensions and reporting hierarchies.
- Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, data and reporting requirements.
- Ability to convert business discussions into clear and actionable requirements for technical teams.
- Experience preparing functional specifications, data mappings, process flows, test cases and validation scenarios.
- Practical experience supporting data validation, report reconciliation, defect resolution, UAT and business sign-off.
- Solid analytical, documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Desirable Experience

- Experience supporting SAP data and reporting transformation or modernisation programmes.
- Exposure to SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, SAP BO, SAP SAC and SAP BODS landscapes.
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure, Databricks and Power BI.
- Experience migrating SAP reporting and analytical workloads to cloud-based data platforms.
- Previous experience working in the UAE or with Middle East clients.
- Willingness to work from Abu Dhabi for defined periods during the programme.
