ISP Elementary 1st Grade Teacher Role Profile
Purpose of Role
The purpose of the Elementary Teacher role is to provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences that support the academic, social, and emotional development of young students. The teacher creates a secure, inclusive, and engaging classroom workplace where all children are encouraged to reach their full potential. Through planning, instruction, and assessment, the elementary teacher plays a key role in building foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking, while fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons in accordance with the school curriculum.
Create a positive, inclusive, and secure classroom environment that supports the diverse learning needs of all students.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support different learning styles and abilities.
Assess, record, and report on the progress, development, and attainment of students regularly.




Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians.
Develop and maintain classroom routines that promote respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership to enhance the educational experience for all students.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to support student learning and well-being.
Uphold school policies and maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and professionalism.
Identify and respond to the individual needs of students, including those with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning and engagement.
