Preferred candidate profile

Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, sheet metal, or industrial procurement will be preferred.

Knowledge of purchasing items such as MS/SS sheets, structural materials, welding consumables, hardware, fasteners, cutting tools, electrical items, and other engineering materials will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle day-to-day purchase and procurement activities for production and other departments.
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Production, PPC, Stores, Quality, Accounts, and Design departments for material requirements.




- Maintain proper records of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and vendor documents.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor/supplier database.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and take corrective action for delayed deliveries.
- Coordinate with Quality and Stores for material inspection and receipt.
- Resolve issues related to short supply, wrong material, quality rejection, and delivery delays with suppliers.
- Support cost reduction through vendor development, price negotiation, and alternate sourcing.
- Ensure procurement is done as per company requirements and approved specifications.
- Assist in maintaining minimum/required stock levels for critical materials.
- Prepare purchase-related reports and MIS as required by management.

Required Skills
- Positive knowledge of purchase and procurement processes.
- Strong vendor negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Experience in working with ERP/Purchase software.
- Ability to compare quotations and analyze commercial terms.
- Good understanding of industrial/manufacturing materials.
