JOB SUMMARY

Plizma Technology is looking for an experienced Senior Proposal & Process Engineer who can independently manage the complete pre-order technical engineering cycle for water and wastewater treatment projects.

The candidate will be responsible for converting client enquiries, water/effluent analysis reports, tender documents and BOQs into technically sound, commercially workable and execution-ready proposals for STP, ETP, WTP, RO, UF, DM Plant, Softener and ZLD systems.

This is not a documentation-only Proposal Engineer position. The candidate must possess strong practical knowledge of process selection, design calculations, equipment sizing, BOQ preparation, preliminary costing and client technical coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Order Proposal Management

- Review client enquiries, tender documents, BOQs, specifications and water/effluent analysis reports.
- Identify missing design information and prepare technical questionnaires.
- Understand client requirements, applicable discharge standards and reuse objectives.
- Prepare complete technical and techno-commercial proposals.
- Prepare scope of supply, customer scope, exclusions, assumptions and battery limits.
- Prepare tender compliance and deviation statements.
- Maintain proposal numbering, revision control and submission records.
- Handle multiple proposals simultaneously while meeting submission deadlines.

Process Design and Engineering
- Select suitable treatment processes based on influent characteristics, outlet requirements, site conditions and project economics.
- Prepare Design Basis Reports, process descriptions and treatment philosophies.
- Develop treatment schemes for STP, ETP, WTP, UF, RO, DM, Softener and ZLD projects.
- Prepare preliminary PFDs and provide process inputs for P&IDs; and plant layouts.
- Carry out flow, pollution-load and mass-balance calculations.
- Calculate hydraulic retention time and tank volumes.
- Calculate organic loading, oxygen demand and aeration requirements.
- Size pumps, blowers, agitators, clarifiers, tube settlers and DAF systems.
- Calculate sludge generation and select suitable sludge-handling systems.
- Calculate chemical consumption and dosing-system requirements.
- Size pressure filters, softeners, UF and RO systems.
- Calculate RO/UF recovery,



reject quantities and mass balance.
- Validate proposed outlet parameters and performance guarantees.

BOQ, Costing and Vendor Coordination
- Prepare equipment lists, BOQs, technical specifications and datasheets.
- Float technical enquiries to vendors and obtain quotations.
- Technically evaluate and compare vendor offers.
- Prepare preliminary internal project costing.
- Estimate the cost of bought-out equipment, fabricated items, piping, electrical systems, installation and commissioning.
- Coordinate with management for final costing, margin and quoted price.
- Maintain and periodically update the vendor and indicative-rate database.
- Ensure consistency between process design, BOQ, costing and the final proposal.

Client and Internal Coordination
- Attend technical discussions with clients, consultants and vendors.
- Respond to pre-bid and post-bid technical clarifications.
- Revise proposals based on client requirements while protecting the approved design basis.
- Coordinate with the Sales Team for site information and client requirements.
- Coordinate with the Post-Order Design Engineer for execution feasibility.
- Prepare a complete proposal-to-project handover package after receipt of an order.
- Explain the approved process, equipment selection, scope, exclusions and commitments to the post-order engineering team.
- Support technical review during procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning when required.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE The candidate should have hands-on proposal and process-design experience in most of the following areas:
- Sewage Treatment Plants based on MBBR, SBR, MBR and conventional biological processes
- Industrial Effluent Treatment Plants
- Oil and grease traps, API/TPI separators and oil-skimming systems
- Flash mixers, flocculators, clarifiers, tube settlers and lamella clarifiers
- Dissolved Air Flotation systems
- MBBR,



activated sludge, anaerobic and anoxic treatment systems
- Pressure Sand Filters, Multigrade Filters and Activated Carbon Filters
- Iron-removal plants and water softeners
- Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis systems
- DM plants, cation, anion and mixed-bed systems
- Chemical preparation and dosing systems
- Filter presses, screw presses and other sludge-dewatering systems
- Basic understanding of ZLD, MEE and MVR systems
- Pump, blower, piping, valve and instrumentation selection

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Ability to independently develop a treatment process from an analysis report or tender specification
- Strong process-calculation and equipment-sizing capability
- Practical knowledge of CPCB/SPCB discharge and reuse standards
- Ability to prepare professional technical proposals and BOQs
- Experience in preliminary costing and vendor technical evaluation
- Ability to read and review PFDs, P&IDs;, GA drawings and layouts
- Strong command of MS Excel and MS Word
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle client technical discussions
- Strong coordination, documentation and deadline-management skills

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Previous experience with a water-treatment EPC company or system manufacturer
- Experience in government tenders, GeM enquiries and consultant-based projects
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Understanding of electrical load lists, instrumentation and control philosophy
- Site commissioning or plant-troubleshooting experience
- Experience in textile, tannery, food processing, hospital, mining, steel, chemical, pharmaceutical, railway or infrastructure projects

ROLE BOUNDARY This is primarily a pre-order Proposal and Process Engineering position.

The selected candidate will manage an enquiry from technical review through process design, preliminary sizing, proposal preparation, BOQ, costing and technical clarification.

After receipt of an order, the approved proposal and design basis will be formally handed over to the Post-Order Design Engineer for detailed engineering, drawings and execution support.

The Senior Proposal & Process Engineer will remain available for design-intent clarification and review of any major post-order technical deviation.
