AjnaLens is looking for an experienced Audio DSP Engineer to join our Product Engineering team at Thane (Maharashtra – India). This is a hands-on engineering role focused on developing and optimizing real-time audio solutions for next-generation smart glasses, wearables, and consumer electronics.
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in Audio DSP / Embedded Audio, with strong expertise in digital signal processing, multi-microphone systems, acoustic tuning, and real-time audio algorithm implementation.
Who Are We Looking For?
- An experienced Audio DSP Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in real-time audio processing and embedded audio systems.
- Someone with a strong understanding of DSP algorithms, speech enhancement, acoustic processing, and multi-microphone systems.
- A hands-on engineer proficient in C/C++ who can implement and optimize DSP algorithms on embedded MCU/DSP/SoC platforms.
- Someone who understands the complete audio pipeline, from microphone input and acoustic capture to DSP processing and audio output.
- A robust problem solver who can debug complex audio issues and collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, acoustics, mechanical, and AI/ML teams.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize real-time Audio DSP algorithms for embedded platforms.
- Design and tune multi-microphone audio pipelines for voice calls, recording, ASR, and media applications.
- Optimize and debug audio processing for latency, CPU/MIPS, memory, power consumption, and audio quality.
Minimum Work Experience Required
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Audio DSP / Embedded Audio.
- Experience implementing real-time DSP algorithms on embedded MCU/DSP/SoC platforms.
- Experience developing audio solutions for consumer electronics,
wearables, hearables, headphones, smart speakers, AR/VR, or similar products is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Top 5 Skills You Should Possess
- Strong knowledge of FFT/DFT, FIR/IIR filters, adaptive filtering, sampling, resampling, and time/frequency-domain processing.
- Strong programming expertise in C/C++.
- Hands-on experience with AEC, ANC, Noise Suppression/ENC, Beamforming, AGC, VAD, EQ, or Speech Enhancement.
- Strong understanding of microphones, speakers, ADC/DAC, amplifiers, audio buffering, synchronization, and latency.
- Knowledge of RTOS, DMA, interrupts, and real-time embedded systems.
Full-Stack & System Awareness
- Experience with audio interfaces including PDM, PCM, I2S, TDM, USB Audio, and Bluetooth Audio.
- Knowledge of Bluetooth profiles and codecs such as A2DP, HFP, LE Audio, SBC, AAC, LC3, Opus, and PCM.
- Understanding of microphone characterization, gain calibration, channel matching, and acoustic tuning.
- Ability to troubleshoot echo, noise, feedback, clipping, distortion, latency, and audio dropouts.
- Experience integrating vendor and third-party audio libraries and codecs.
Leadership & Strategic Capabilities
- Ability to independently own audio DSP features from algorithm development through tuning, validation, and production.
- Strong debugging and root-cause-analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work closely with hardware, firmware, mechanical, acoustics, and AI/ML teams.
- Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to optimize audio solutions based on product requirements and hardware constraints.
Bonus Points For
- Experience working on Smart Glasses, TWS Earbuds, Hearables, AR/VR, Headphones, or Wearable products.
- Experience with Qualcomm, BES, MediaTek, Cadence/Tensilica HiFi, CEVA, TI, NXP, or similar audio platforms.
- Experience with Bluetooth Classic and LE Audio.
- Exposure to Wake-word detection and ASR front-end processing.
- Experience with MEMS microphone characterization and multi-mic tuning.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Python for audio analysis.
- Familiarity with Audio Precision, HEAD acoustics, REW, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Exposure to AI/ML-based speech enhancement or audio processing is a plus.
