Position Summary:

Experienced professional with 5 - 8 years of expertise in PON/optical access and L2/L3 Datacom/Protocols testing, software system analysis, and troubleshooting. Skilled in OLT/ONU product verification, network protocols, test design, and manual plus automation testing using Python, Shell, and Robot Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

PON &

- Product Test Verification:
- Lead non-functional, performance, and protocol testing of PON system products (OLT, ONU/ONT, Network Management) for new Software and Hardware releases.
- Cover end-to-end scenarios and drive testing deliverables against project milestones.
- Analyze, design, and test integrated hardware/software systems, improvements, and bug fixes.

Test Design, Execution &

- Quality Assurance:
- Define and maintain test strategies, test cases, and test bed setups based on requirements and protocol specifications.
- Execute regression, performance, and non-functional testing.
- Reproduce and verify customer trouble tickets; submit, track, and drive bugs to closure.
- Diagnose complex issues and deliver RCA or recommended corrective actions.
- Produce professional test reports and maintain quality standards.

Technical Planning, Automation &

- Field Support:
- Plan technical test strategy based on customer needs and product roadmaps.
- Design, develop,



and maintain automation test frameworks and scripts using Python, Shell, and Robot Framework.
- Provide technical support and customer training when required.

Leadership, Mentoring &

- Process Improvement:
- Provide working leadership and training to less experienced personnel.
- Lead small projects with limited risk and resource requirements.
- Participate in process, methodology, and test tool evolution.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or above (B.Tech or equivalent) in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
- 5 - 8 years in Datacom, PON, or optical access product testing.
- Strong knowledge of PON principles (GPON, etc.) and OLT/ONU/ONT products.
- Solid experience in L2/L3 Datacom/Protocols testing: VLAN, xSTP, IGMP, ARP, 802.1x, QoS, DHCP, PPPoE, IPv6 Networking.
- Solid understanding of switch/router operation
- TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP
- L2/L3 forwarding knowledge.
- MUST have hands-on experience with traffic generators such as Spirent / IXIA / PCTA.
- Strong hands-on experience in automation testing (Python, Robot Framework).
- Strong working experience with Linux-based test environments (CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Docker, Kubernetes).
