SECURITY OFFICER — i'Deli Cafe

We are opening a new i'Deli Cafe outlet in Kakkanad, Kochi, and are looking for a responsible, alert, and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our guests, employees, premises, assets, and daily operations.

The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, monitoring access and movement, preventing security incidents, supporting emergency procedures, and ensuring that i'Deli Cafe's security standards are consistently maintained.

Security & Safety

- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and visitors.
- Monitor the premises regularly to identify and prevent potential security risks.
- Remain alert and attentive throughout the assigned shift.
- Prevent unauthorised access to restricted areas.
- Monitor suspicious activities and report concerns immediately.
- Protect company property, equipment, inventory, and other assets.
- Ensure security procedures are followed consistently.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents and emergencies.

Access Control
- Monitor entry and exit points of the outlet.
- Control access to staff-only and restricted areas.
- Verify authorised personnel, visitors, vendors, and service personnel when required.
- Maintain awareness of staff and visitor movement within the premises.
- Ensure unauthorised persons do not enter restricted areas.
- Monitor delivery personnel and external contractors as per company procedures.
- Report any unusual or unauthorised activity to the Outlet Manager or concerned supervisor.

Guest & Visitor Management
- Welcome guests and visitors in a polite and professional manner.
- Assist guests with basic directions and general enquiries when required.
- Maintain a visible and approachable security presence without disturbing the guest experience.
- Handle guest-related security concerns calmly and professionally.
- Assist elderly guests, children, or guests requiring additional support when appropriate.
- Prevent disturbances while maintaining a respectful approach.
- Escalate serious guest-related incidents to management immediately.

CCTV & Surveillance
- Monitor CCTV systems and security equipment where applicable.
- Observe guest, staff, entrance, parking, and other relevant areas.
- Report suspicious behaviour, unusual activity, or security concerns immediately.
- Maintain awareness of blind spots and potential security vulnerabilities.
- Ensure CCTV and other security equipment remain unobstructed and operational.
- Report equipment faults or technical issues to the appropriate person.
- Maintain confidentiality

Premises Monitoring
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas.
- Check entrances, exits, back-of-house areas, storage areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations.
- Ensure doors, gates, and restricted areas are secured as required.
- Monitor for fire, electrical, water, structural, or other potential safety hazards.
- Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or maintenance concerns.
- Ensure the premises remain secure during opening, operating, and closing hours.

Opening & Closing Security
- Support opening procedures by checking the premises before operations begin.
- Ensure the premises are secure before allowing staff access where required.
- Check designated areas for unusual activity or safety concerns.
- Support closing procedures and ensure relevant areas are secured.
- Monitor the premises after closing as per the assigned shift and security procedures.
- Ensure keys, access points,



and restricted areas are handled according to company policy.
- Report any irregularities identified during opening or closing checks.

Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to security and safety emergencies.
- Follow established emergency procedures and instructions from management.
- Assist in maintaining order during emergencies.
- Support safe evacuation of guests and employees when required.
- Assist emergency services and authorised personnel when necessary.
- Report accidents, incidents, injuries, fire hazards, or other emergencies immediately.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency exits, assembly points, fire equipment, and emergency contact procedures.
- Participate in emergency drills and safety training.

Fire & Safety
- Maintain awareness of fire-safety procedures and emergency equipment.
- Ensure emergency exits and access routes remain clear.
- Report blocked exits, fire hazards, or unsafe practices immediately.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment around electrical, kitchen, storage, and service areas.
- Support management during fire drills and emergency situations.
- Never compromise emergency access or safety procedures.
- Follow all applicable workplace health and safety requirements.

Asset Protection
- Protect i'Deli Cafe property, equipment, furniture, inventory, and other assets.
- Monitor movement of company property in and out of the premises.
- Support procedures relating to deliveries, equipment movement, and vendor access.
- Report suspected theft, damage, loss, or misuse of company property.
- Maintain vigilance around storage and back-of-house areas.
- Cooperate with management during internal security checks and investigations.

Incident Reporting
- Report security incidents, accidents, suspicious activities, and safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and security observations where required.
- Provide clear and factual information to management.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding internal incidents and security matters.
- Escalate serious incidents immediately rather than attempting to handle matters beyond the scope of responsibility.
- Assist management and authorised personnel with incident investigations when required.

Staff & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate professionally with outlet staff, kitchen team, service team, management, vendors, delivery personnel, and maintenance teams.
- Assist with controlling vendor and contractor access.
- Ensure external personnel follow applicable security procedures.
- Support management during busy periods, events, and special occasions.
- Maintain professional communication with all employees and external personnel.

Parking & Traffic Management
- Monitor the entrance and designated parking areas where applicable.
- Assist with orderly vehicle movement during busy periods.
- Help maintain clear access for guests, deliveries, emergency vehicles, and service personnel.
- Prevent unauthorised parking or obstruction of emergency access.
- Assist guests with basic parking-related guidance when required.
- Report vehicle-related incidents or concerns to management.

Hygiene, Grooming & Professional Conduct
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional grooming.




- Wear the prescribed uniform and security identification at all times while on duty.
- Maintain a professional and alert appearance.
- Remain courteous and respectful toward guests and colleagues.
- Avoid unnecessary arguments or confrontations.
- Maintain discipline and punctuality throughout the shift.
- Do not leave the assigned security post without proper authorisation or handover.

Security Equipment
- Use security equipment responsibly and correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of security equipment.
- Report faults or damage to CCTV, communication devices, alarms, access systems, or other security equipment.
- Follow all instructions regarding the use of security systems and equipment.
- Never misuse or disclose confidential security information.

Teamwork
- Work closely with the Outlet Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, service team, kitchen team, and other employees.
- Maintain effective communication with the management team.
- Support colleagues during peak operating periods and special events.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and organised environment throughout the outlet.
- Follow instructions from authorised management personnel.
- Contribute positively to the overall safety and guest experience.

Training & Development
- Participate in security, safety, emergency response, and fire-safety training.
- Stay updated on i'Deli Cafe security policies and procedures.
- Continuously improve situational awareness and communication skills.
- Participate in emergency drills and security briefings.
- Accept feedback from management and improve performance.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency contacts, procedures, and outlet-specific security requirements.

Recent Outlet Opening
- Support the security setup and pre-opening activities of the new Kakkanad outlet.
- Participate in security and emergency-preparedness checks before opening.
- Assist with identifying potential security risks around the premises.
- Familiarise yourself with entrances, exits, restricted areas, emergency routes, CCTV locations, and security equipment.
- Support vendor, contractor, and staff access during the pre-opening period.
- Help establish security routines and procedures before the outlet opens.
- Ensure the outlet is ready to operate in a safe and secure environment from day one.

Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in security, hospitality, restaurants, hotels, retail, commercial establishments, or a similar environment preferred.
- Previous experience as a Security Officer, Security Guard, Security Supervisor, or equivalent role is an advantage.
- Experience in hotels, premium restaurants, cafés, QSRs, malls, commercial establishments, or hospitality brands will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with relevant security training and practical experience will be preferred.

Education & Certification

- Minimum secondary education preferred.
- Security training/certification from a recognised institution will be an advantage.
- First-aid, fire-safety, or emergency-response training will be an added advantage.
- Relevant security experience and practical skills will also be considered.
