At Licious, we are building a scalable and reliable data platform that powers critical business decisions, operational intelligence, and next-generation data products. /n /n As an SDE II – Data Platform , you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing large-scale distributed data systems that process and serve data across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about distributed systems, streaming architectures, and platform engineering. /n /n What You'll Be Doing /n /n /n
- Build Scalable Data Platforms : Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems that support real-time and batch data processing across the organization.

- Streaming & Data Processing: Build and optimize data processing solutions using contemporary streaming and distributed computing frameworks to ensure high throughput, reliability, and scalability.
/n
- Platform Engineering : Contribute to the development and evolution of the data platform, improving system reliability, operational efficiency, observability, and developer experience.
/n
- System Design & Architecture : Participate in the design and implementation of scalable data architectures and distributed systems while making informed engineering trade-offs around performance, reliability, and cost.
/n
- Infrastructure & Cloud Automation : Leverage modern infrastructure and orchestration tools to build, deploy, and operate highly available data services and platform components.
/n
- Performance & Optimization : Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve data processing efficiency, system performance, platform costs, and resource utilization.
/n
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner closely with software engineers, platform engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions
/n
- Operational Excellence : Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities to ensure platform stability and reliability.
/n /n /n What You'll Bring to the Team /n /n Experience: /n 3–5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related backend engineering roles, with hands-on experience building distributed systems and data infrastructure. /n Distributed Systems & Data Engineering: /n Strong experience with: /n /n
- Apache Spark

- Apache Kafka

- Streaming data architectures

- Batch processing systems

- Distributed computing concepts

- Strong proficiency in Python (must-have)

- 3–5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or Platform Engineering.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
/n
- Proven experience building and operating distributed systems in a product or technology-driven environment.
