Position: Scientific Coding Expert Physics and Python

Type: Short-Term Contractor Assignment (8 weeks)

Compensation: $23 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week with 4 hours overlap with PST

Role Responsibilities

- Create rigorous scientific coding problems consisting of a main problem and at least 3 logically connected sub-problems.
- Implement verified golden solutions in Python with complete unit test coverage.
- Design discriminative test cases to differentiate correct from incorrect model outputs.
- Run quality-control checks and improve tasks based on feedback.
- Ensure tasks meet standards for scientific correctness, well-posedness, determinism, and test quality.
- Participate in reviews, feedback sessions, and project standups during overlap hours.

Requirements

- Master's or PhD in Physics.




- Strong Python programming and scientific computing skills.
- Ability to write rigorous, well-posed scientific problems with explicit constraints and expected outputs.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of scientific correctness and determinism.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks or coding benchmarks is a plus.
- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, or similar scientific tools.
- Google Scholar profile/link is mandatory.
