Core SAP Skills:
1. Integration Patterns: Sender/Receiver Agreement, ICO, Channel Configuration, Adapter Types – IDoc, RFC, JDBC, File, SOAP, REST
2. Mapping: Graphical Mapping, XSLT, Java Mapping, User Defined Functions (UDFs)
3. ABAP: Proxy generation, BAPI/RFC, IDoc basics, debugging. Candidate should have ABAP knowledge even as an Integration Developer.
4. Monitoring: Runtime Workbench (RWB), NWA, Message Tracking, Error Handling
5. XML/XSD/WSDL: Around 80% of PI work involves XML manipulation.
6. Java: Custom adapters, modules, XSLT extensions – should have working knowledge.
7. Networking: SSL, Certificates, SFTP, Proxies.
