Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced SAP MDM / MDG Consultant to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of Master Data Management solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of SAP MDM / SAP MDG, data governance, data quality, and data migration, along with the ability to work effectively with business and technical teams.

Candidates with 6+ years of experience and prior Lead / Team Lead experience will be considered for the Lead-level requirement. Candidates should have experience in coordinating project activities, guiding team members, and supporting successful delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesSAP MDM / MDG

- Design, configure, implement, and support SAP MDM / SAP MDG solutions.
- Configure MDM repositories, data models, workflows, validations, and business rules.
- Develop and maintain data quality and validation rules.
- Support integration of MDM/MDG solutions with SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Analyze and resolve MDM/MDG-related functional and technical issues.

Data Quality Management
- Ensure master data is accurate, complete, consistent, and reliable.
- Identify data quality issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support data cleansing, validation, enrichment, and correction activities.
- Implement processes and controls to maintain data quality.

Data Governance
- Support the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Define and maintain data ownership, approval, and governance processes.
- Ensure master data processes follow established governance standards.
- Work with business stakeholders to improve data governance practices.

Data Migration
- Plan and execute master data migration activities for SAP implementations, upgrades, and transformation projects.
- Perform data mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with business and technical teams during migration and cutover activities.




- Ensure migrated data meets defined quality and business requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Gather and analyze requirements from business users and stakeholders.
- Work closely with SAP functional, technical, and business teams.
- Translate business requirements into effective MDM/MDG solutions.
- Support issue resolution and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout project activities.

Lead / Team Lead ResponsibilitiesCandidates with 6+ years of SAP MDM / MDG experience and prior Lead / Team Lead experience should be able to:

- Lead MDM/MDG activities and coordinate project deliverables.
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level team members.
- Allocate tasks and monitor progress to support timely delivery.
- Provide functional and technical guidance to team members.
- Review deliverables and maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Support issue escalation and resolution.
- Manage priorities, timelines, and project deliverables.
- Demonstrate previous team handling experience.
- Clearly mention the number of team members managed in the resume.

Training & Support
- Provide guidance and training to end users and team members on MDM/MDG processes.
- Support users in troubleshooting MDM/MDG-related issues.
- Promote best practices for master data management and governance.
- Prepare training materials and user documentation where required.

Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain functional and technical documentation.
- Document MDM/MDG configurations, processes, data models, and migration activities.
- Maintain project-related records and reports.
- Provide updates on data quality, project progress, and outstanding issues.





Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor master data quality and identify discrepancies.
- Implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Identify opportunities to improve MDM processes and data governance.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP MDM/MDG technologies, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant experience in SAP MDM / SAP MDG or a closely related Master Data Management role.
- Strong understanding of SAP MDM / SAP MDG concepts and processes.
- Experience in data governance and data quality management.
- Experience with data cleansing, mapping, validation, and migration.
- Good understanding of SAP master data structures.
- Familiarity with SAP modules such as FI, SD, and MM.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- Knowledge of SQL is preferred.
- Knowledge of ABAP is an advantage.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
- Experience with SAP implementation, migration, upgrade, or transformation projects is an advantage.

Additional Requirements – Lead / Team Lead LevelFor the Lead / Team Lead level, candidates should have:
- 6+ years of SAP MDM / MDG experience.
- Previous experience as a Team Lead, Lead Consultant, or equivalent role.
- Experience coordinating MDM/MDG project activities.
- Experience guiding, mentoring, or managing team members.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and project delivery skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Team size handled should be clearly mentioned in the resume.

Candidate Preference
- Robust hands-on experience in SAP MDM / MDG.
- Candidates with proven experience in data governance, data quality, and data migration.
- For Lead / Team Lead positions, candidates with demonstrated team handling and leadership experience will be preferred.
