We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and wants to work on real-time telemetry, large-scale data systems, and products that have a direct impact on road safety.

About the Role
As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building the backend infrastructure that powers Lane’s telemetry and driving intelligence platform. You’ll work with high-frequency data from GPS and vehicle/motion sensors, build scalable APIs and data pipelines, and help take our systems from early-stage pilots to production scale.

What You’ll Own
Build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data ingestion systems.
Develop pipelines to process high-frequency telemetry and sensor data such as GPS, gyroscope,



and accelerometer streams.
Design and optimize databases for telemetry, driver scoring, analytics, and reporting.
Own AWS infrastructure including deployments, monitoring, scaling, reliability, and cost optimization.
Build secure authentication, authorization, and role-based access systems for enterprise and internal users.
Work closely with Product, Mobile, Data, and Engineering teams to design and ship new capabilities.
Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions as Lane scales its platform.
Write clean, tested, maintainable, and well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews.

What We’re Looking For
2–5 years of experience in backend engineering.
Robust proficiency in at least one backend language such as Node.js, Python, Go, or Java.
Hands-on experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB, or similar.
Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.
