- The Retail Store Cashier will be responsible for managing checkout operations, processing customer payments, handling returns and exchanges, and providing a friendly and efficient customer experience. The role also involves supporting general store operations and maintaining accurate cash and transaction records.

Role Summary

- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers at the checkout counter.

- Ensure smooth, accurate, and effective billing and payment processing.

- Support customer satisfaction, store operations, and sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Payment Processing:

- Greet customers warmly as they approach the checkout counter.

- Scan items, verify prices, and apply applicable discounts and promotions.

- Process cash, card, and mobile payments accurately.

- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system and issue receipts and correct change.

- Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policies.

Cash & Transaction Management

- Maintain accurate cash handling and transaction records.

- Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.

- Reconcile till discrepancies and report any issues to the Store Manager.

- Follow company policies related to cash handling, security, and loss prevention.

Customer Service

- Assist customers with billing and store-related queries.

- Direct customers to the appropriate staff when additional assistance is required.

- Inform customers about ongoing promotions, loyalty programmes, and special offers.

- Maintain a friendly, patient,



and professional approach while interacting with customers.

Store Support

- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and presentable.

- Assist with bagging items and restocking merchandise when required.

- Support other store operations, particularly during busy periods or long checkout queues.

- Report equipment defects, technical issues, or customer complaints to the Store Manager.

Education

Job Requirements

- 12th Pass.

Experience

- Previous cashier experience, preferably in retail or a fast-paced environment, will be an advantage.

Language

- English or Kannada.

Candidate Profile

- Basic arithmetic and money-handling skills.

- Comfortable operating POS systems and processing transactions.

- Good verbal communication and customer service skills.

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Honest and trustworthy while handling cash and confidential transaction information.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate physical activities such as bagging and restocking.
