Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day garment production operations, ensuring timely completion of orders while maintaining quality standards and optimal efficiency. The role involves managing manpower, coordinating with cutting, stitching, and finishing teams, and ensuring smooth workflow across all production stages.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Execute production plans as per order timelines and delivery schedules
- Ensure line setup is done as per style requirements
- Monitor daily production targets and achieve efficiency benchmarks
2. Team Management
- Supervise tailors (karigars), helpers, and line staff
- Allocate work and monitor performance of production teams
- Train and guide workers on quality and productivity standards
3. Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to quality standards at every stage (cutting, stitching, finishing)
- Minimize rework and rejection rates
- Coordinate with QC team for inline and final inspections
4. Process Coordination
- Coordinate with fabric cutting team for timely input
- Ensure proper bundling and flow of garments across stages
- Maintain smooth coordination between departments
5. Productivity & Efficiency
- Track line efficiency and implement improvements
- Reduce wastage of fabric and materials
- Optimize manpower utilization
6. Inventory & Material Handling
- Ensure proper usage of fabric, trims, and accessories
- Avoid shortages or excess consumption
- Maintain records of production output and material usage
7. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure safe working environment on the production floor
- Follow company policies and SOPs
- Maintain discipline and hygiene standards
