Lead Engineer (Ammonia & Urea )

Summary Section:
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate FEED and Detailed Engineering activities for licensed units of Ammonia and Urea as well as open‑art units.
- Liaise with technology licensors, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of project scope and technical specifications.
- Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs;, HMBs, and material selection diagrams.
- Support HAZID/HAZOP, SIL, and other risk assessments throughout the engineering phases.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables including data sheets, technical specifications, design calculations, and layout drawings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards,
and client specifications (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA).
- Provide input for cost estimation, procurement strategies, and long-lead item identification.
- Monitor engineering progress against project milestones and intervene as necessary to resolve issues.
- Participate in design reviews, model reviews (3D), and constructability assessments.
- Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
- 15-20 years of relevant experience, with at least 5-8 years in design of Ammonia and Urea units.
- Proven track record in FEED and DE phases as Process Lead for large-scale Ammonia and Urea projects.
- Familiarity with leading licensors and their design packages.
- Robust knowledge of process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
