1. Sample Collection & Handling
- Collect blood, urine, stool, sputum, and other biological specimens as per prescribed methods.
- Label and document samples accurately to avoid mix-ups or errors.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of biological waste as per biomedical waste management guidelines.
2. Laboratory Testing & Reporting
- Conduct routine and specialized tests
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Record and verify test results, ensuring accuracy before reporting.
- Communicate critical values immediately to the concerned physician or department.
3. Quality Control & Documentation
- Perform daily quality control checks on reagents and instruments.
- Maintain calibration logs, temperature records, and maintenance registers.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.

Safety & Compliance
- Follow infection control practices and wear appropriate PPE.
- Dispose of biohazardous material as per hospital and government guidelines.
- Comply with NABH, NABL, and other regulatory standards (if applicable).
5. Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with nursing, casualty, and ICU staff for urgent investigations.
- Support doctors in patient sample interpretation when required.
- Maintain stock of reagents, consumables, and notify shortages to the lab in-charge.
