Job Title: Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA)

Role Overview

The Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA) is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and security of relational and NoSQL databases deployed across cloud platforms. This role ensures high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of enterprise database environments hosted on Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Support
- Install, configure, and manage relational databases including:
- PostgreSQL
- Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)
- Provide operational support for additional databases such as:
- Oracle (good to have)
- MySQL (good to have)
- Cassandra (NoSQL - positive to have)
- Perform backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
- Manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations.
- Monitor and optimize database performance.

Cloud Database Management
- Deploy and manage databases on:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud
- Configure cloud-native database services (e.g.,



managed SQL services, storage configurations).
- Implement scaling strategies for performance and cost optimization.
- Ensure secure database architecture aligned with cloud security best practices.

Automation & Scripting
- Develop automation scripts using:
- PowerShell
- Python
- Shell scripting
- Automate routine database tasks including:
- Provisioning
- Monitoring
- Performance tuning
- Backup validation
- Support Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives where applicable.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization
- Utilize monitoring tools such as:
- Grafana
- CloudWatch
- Datadog
- Prometheus
- Track database health, latency, and resource utilization.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Proactively analyze trends to prevent outages.

Security & Compliance
- Implement database security best practices including:
- Role-based access control
- Encryption at rest and
