We're a small, early-stage fintech team building a consumer app that helps people make smarter decisions across the financial products they already have. The backend and a browser-based version are already live and in active beta; this role owns finishing and shipping the native Android app.

What you'll do:

- Complete the React Native Android app on an existing, partially-built codebase (browser based MVP) — not a from-scratch build

- Build out camera-based QR scanning (reading UPI and VPA payment formats)

- Build OTP-based login, card-portfolio management screens, and a real-time recommendation display

- Build a transaction/insights dashboard and integrate SMS-based transaction parsing (Android permission-gated)

- Set up Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications

- Test across multiple real Android devices (not emulator-only) and prepare a signed release build for Play Store submission

- Work strictly at the app layer, calling existing backend APIs — no business logic or scoring calculations live in the app; that stays server-side and outside this role's access

- Follow a structured workflow: feature branches, pull requests, code review before merge, daily async status updates

What we're looking for:

- Strong hands-on React Native experience for Android (Node.js, React Native CLI, Android Studio/SDK, JDK 17)





- Experience with camera/QR-scanning integrations is a strong plus

- Experience with JWT-based auth flows and REST API integration (axios or similar)

- Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging

- Comfortable working independently against an existing codebase in a small, early-stage setup

- Bonus: fintech, payments, or SMS-based data-parsing experience on Android

- Bonus: has taken an app through Play Store submission before

How this engagement works:

- Small, async, high-trust setup — direct line to the founder, no management layers

- Access is scoped to the mobile app only — no access to the backend, database, or the underlying recommendation logic, which stays confidential

- Requires signing an NDA + IP Assignment Agreement (all code/IP produced belongs to the company)

Structure & compensation:

- 6-month paid contract engagement to start

- On successful conversion at the end of the term: full time employment with an ESOP grant (standard 4-year vesting, 1-year cliff)

- No equity during the contract phase — this converts at the point of full-time employment, not before
