Role & responsibilities

- Safety Management: Enforce the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle to minimize radiation exposure.
- Compliance & Licensing: Maintain facility licenses, permits, and regulatory documentation.
- Monitoring & Testing: Oversee radiation badge programs, area surveys, and equipment leak tests.
- Training & Audits: Educate staff on safe handling practices and run internal safety audits.
- Emergency Response: Manage radiological incidents, spills, or overexposure events.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Degree in Health Physics, Medical Physics, Physics, Engineering, or a related science field.
- Certification: Specialized RSO training certification recognized by national authorities (such as AERB guidelines locally or NRRPT/ABHP internationally).
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years working directly with radioactive materials or radiation-producing devices.
- Skills: Solid knowledge of safety laws, risk assessment, and clear communication.
