: Technology Project Manager / Scrum Master

Position Overview The Technology Project Manager / Scrum Master is a hands-on delivery leader responsible for establishing disciplined Scrum practices, configuring and governing Jira, and leading complex, cross-functional technology projects across Cordance Commerce. This role creates the operating rhythm, delivery visibility, risk management, and stakeholder alignment needed to turn strategic priorities and product roadmaps into predictable outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines deep Scrum mastery with strong technology project-management experience and sufficient technical fluency to coordinate software, data, infrastructure, platform, release, and customer-migration initiatives. This role does not replace Product or Engineering ownership; it enables those teams to work effectively by improving backlog readiness, facilitation, transparency, dependency management, decisions, and execution discipline.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish, coach, and continuously improve practical Scrum ways of working across assigned teams, including roles, working agreements, Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, estimation, capacity planning, sprint goals, and team-level metrics.
- Set up and configure Jira from the ground up, including projects, issue types, workflows, statuses, screens, fields, permissions, boards, filters, dashboards, automation rules, notifications, releases, and reporting conventions.
- Serve as the operating owner for Jira data quality and governance, ensuring that teams consistently maintain accurate priorities, owners, estimates, sprint assignments, dependencies, due dates, releases, and status information.
- Plan, schedule, and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily Scrum, sprint review, retrospective, and cross-team Scrum-of-Scrums or dependency forums where needed.
- Coach Product Owners, Engineering leaders, and delivery teams on backlog health, story quality, acceptance criteria, estimation, sustainable commitments, flow, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Remove or escalate impediments, protect sprint commitments from unplanned disruption, and help teams address recurring delivery constraints without creating unnecessary process overhead.
- Develop and publish concise weekly delivery reports covering sprint goals, planned-versus-completed work, milestone health, delivery confidence, throughput or velocity trends, blockers, risks, dependencies, decisions, scope changes, and actions requiring leadership attention.
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution for strategic technology projects, including platform consolidation, Secure Retail-to-Solutions migration, database modernization, unified reporting, reliability improvements, integrations, and AI-enabled initiatives.
- Translate approved business priorities and product roadmaps into project charters, workstreams, milestones, dependencies, resource plans, delivery forecasts, measurable acceptance criteria, and clear ownership.
- Establish and maintain integrated project plans across Engineering, Product, Architecture, Data, Quality, Infrastructure, Customer Success, Support, Sales, and external partners.
- Facilitate project kickoffs, planning sessions, weekly execution reviews, risk and dependency reviews, decision forums, retrospectives, and executive status updates.
- Track scope,



schedule, capacity, budget, quality, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, decisions, and changes; escalate early with context, business impact, options, and a recommendation.
- Coordinate release and migration readiness across technical and customer-facing teams, including validation, cutover, rollback, communications, training, support preparedness, and post-launch stabilization.
- Partner with Product Managers and Engineering leaders to maintain clear priorities, healthy and ready backlogs, realistic commitments, and alignment among customer needs, architecture requirements, capacity, and delivery timelines.
- Manage vendor and contractor deliverables when assigned, including statements of work, milestones, invoices, risks, performance, and expected return on investment.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in technology delivery, including meaningful experience performing both Scrum Master and technology project-management responsibilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in Scrum, including facilitating all ceremonies, coaching Product Owners and engineering teams, improving backlog health, removing impediments, and using retrospectives to deliver measurable improvement.
- Hands-on experience configuring and launching Jira for software-development teams, including workflows, issue types, custom fields, permissions, boards, dashboards, automation, filters, releases, and reporting.




- Demonstrated success delivering SaaS software, platform, data, cloud, integration, infrastructure, release, or migration projects through the full lifecycle.
- Experience building integrated project plans and managing scope, schedule, dependencies, capacity, resources, risks, budgets, vendors, organizational change, and operational readiness.
- Ability to build weekly reports and meaningful delivery metrics from Jira and related systems, including sprint predictability, planned-versus-delivered work, flow, aging work, blockers, quality, and milestone confidence.
- Strong working knowledge of software-development lifecycles, Agile and hybrid delivery approaches, release management, CI/CD, testing, and production-readiness practices.
- Excellent facilitation, organization, written communication, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and executive-presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI-ACP, PMP, or comparable certification; advanced Scrum certification is a plus.
- Experience administering Jira Cloud and integrating Jira with Confluence, GitHub, CI/CD, service-management, or business-intelligence tools.
- Experience managing technology integration or consolidation following acquisitions or across a multi-product SaaS portfolio.
- Experience leading customer migrations, cloud modernization, database migrations, data-platform implementations, or enterprise reporting initiatives.
- Experience coordinating distributed teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders across time zones.
- Experience with retail, point-of-sale, inventory, e-commerce, donation, or thrift/resale software environments.
- Working knowledge of information security, data privacy, business continuity, and operational readiness.

- Backlogs and sprint work meet agreed readiness and quality standards, while retrospective actions lead to measurable improvements.

Jira Implementation & Data Quality
- Jira projects, workflows, boards, permissions, dashboards, automation, and reporting are configured to support the agreed delivery model and adopted consistently.
- Jira data is sufficiently accurate and current to support weekly reporting, forecasting, prioritization, and leadership decisions.

Delivery Predictability & Transparency
- Weekly reports are timely, concise, evidence-based, and trusted by delivery teams and executives.
- Milestone attainment, sprint predictability, and planned-versus-delivered performance improve toward agreed organizational targets.

Risk, Dependency & Decision Management
- RAID and decision logs remain current, with accountable owners and due dates, and material threats are escalated before they jeopardize committed outcomes.
- Cross-team dependencies, scope changes, and schedule impacts are identified, evaluated, resolved, and communicated promptly.
