Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Business Support
- Manage procurement for assigned passenger car aftermarket categories.
- Develop sourcing plans based on business requirements.
- Ensure availability of products at competitive prices.
- Balance product availability, purchase cost and inventory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs.
- Develop alternate sourcing options for critical products.
- Support business growth through reliable product sourcing.
Supplier Management
- Manage key supplier relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit terms and delivery conditions.
- Review supplier performance regularly.
- Develop new suppliers and sourcing channels.
- Ensure competitive pricing through regular market and supplier comparison.
- Resolve major supplier and supply-related issues.
Category & Market Management
- Manage product categories and supplier mix.
- Monitor market prices and changes in availability.
- Understand product demand and market movement.
- Identify new products and sourcing opportunities.
- Review product performance and supplier contribution.
- Maintain strong knowledge of passenger car aftermarket parts.
Team Management
- Lead and manage the procurement team.
- Set priorities and responsibilities for team members.
- Review procurement activities and performance.
- Guide the team on supplier negotiations and issue resolution.
- Develop team members' knowledge of products, suppliers and procurement processes.
Reporting & Coordination
- Review procurement costs, supplier performance and product availability.
- Monitor purchase orders and pending supplies.
- Coordinate with sales, warehouse, finance and other teams.
- Review inventory and availability requirements with relevant teams.
- Provide regular procurement updates to the Head - Procurement.
- Track and address major supply and cost issues.
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Automobile / supply chain qualification will be an advantage.
Experience
- 8+ years of relevant procurement experience.
- Experience managing procurement teams is preferred.
Industry Experience
- Mandatory: Strong experience in the Passenger Car Aftermarket Industry.
- Strong experience in passenger car spare parts procurement is required.
- Strong supplier network in the passenger car aftermarket.
- Good knowledge of passenger car spare parts.
- Experience managing multiple product categories.
- Robust understanding of aftermarket pricing and sourcing.
Role-Specific Requirements
- Strong knowledge of passenger car aftermarket parts and suppliers.
- Ability to manage commercial negotiations with key suppliers.
- Ability to build alternate sourcing channels.
