nPrincipal / Vice Principal / Director – School of Nursing

n

nWe are seeking an experienced, visionary and academically accomplished Nursing Education Leader to provide strategic, academic and administrative leadership for the School of Nursing.

n

nThe ideal candidate should have strong experience in Nursing Education, Academic Administration, Faculty Leadership, Curriculum Implementation, Clinical Training, Regulatory Compliance, Student Development and Institutional Quality Systems.

n

nThis is a senior leadership position responsible for establishing the School of Nursing as a high-quality, professionally governed and outcome-driven centre for nursing education.

nKey Responsibilities

n1. Academic Leadership

n

nProvide overall academic leadership for the School of Nursing.

n

nDevelop and implement academic plans aligned with institutional vision and nursing education standards.

n

nEnsure effective curriculum delivery, lesson planning, academic scheduling and assessment systems.

n

nMonitor teaching-learning quality and academic outcomes.

n

nEstablish a culture of continuous academic improvement.

n

nPromote evidence-based teaching and modern nursing education practices.

n2. Nursing Education & Clinical Training

n

nEnsure strong integration between theoretical nursing education and clinical practice.

n

nDevelop structured clinical training and hospital exposure programmes.

n

nMonitor clinical postings, clinical competencies and student performance.

n

nEstablish appropriate clinical supervision and mentoring systems.

n

nStrengthen partnerships with hospitals and healthcare institutions.

nEnsure students receive adequate exposure to contemporary healthcare practices.

n3. Faculty Leadership & Development

n

nLead recruitment, selection, onboarding and deployment of nursing faculty.

n

nEstablish faculty performance standards and appraisal systems.

n

nIdentify faculty development needs and organise FDPs, workshops and training.

n

nMentor faculty members and develop future academic leaders.

n

nMonitor faculty workload, attendance, academic performance and professional development.

n

nEncourage faculty participation in research, publications, conferences and professional forums.

n4. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

n

nEnsure compliance with applicable requirements of:

nIndian Nursing Council / applicable national nursing regulatory framework

n

nState Nursing Council

nUniversity / affiliating authority requirements

nGovernment and statutory authorities

nApplicable accreditation and quality standards

n

nMaintain readiness for inspections, audits and regulatory visits.

nEnsure accurate documentation and timely submission of statutory records.

nMaintain all academic, faculty, infrastructure and clinical training documentation.

n5. Institutional Administration

n

nProvide strategic direction for the overall functioning of the School of Nursing.

n

nEstablish SOPs, policies, academic systems and administrative processes.

n

nCoordinate with HR, Finance, Administration, Admissions, Marketing and other Group institutions.

n

nEnsure effective utilisation of infrastructure, laboratories, classrooms and learning resources.

n

nMonitor operational efficiency and institutional discipline.

n

nPrepare and review periodic academic and administrative reports for Management.

n6. Student Development & Welfare

n

nBuild a student-centric academic environment.

n

nMonitor student attendance, academic performance, discipline and progression.

n

nStrengthen mentoring, counselling and student support systems.

n

nPromote professional ethics, communication skills, leadership and employability.

nEnsure effective grievance redressal mechanisms.

nSupport student participation in community health, social service and professional activities.

n7. Quality Assurance & Institutional Development

nEstablish measurable academic and institutional KPIs.

nRequired Qualifications

n

nEssential

n

nM.Sc. Nursing recognised by the applicable nursing regulatory authority.

n

nValid registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with the applicable State Nursing Council.

n

nStrong academic and administrative experience in Nursing Education.

n

n

nDesirable

n

nPh.D. in Nursing or equivalent doctoral qualification.

n

nAdditional qualifications in Education / Healthcare Administration / Management will be an advantage.

n

nExperience in institutional quality assurance, accreditation and regulatory compliance.

nMinimum 15 years of total professional experience after M.Sc. Nursing.

nAt least 10 years of experience in Nursing Education / Teaching and Academic Administration after obtaining the postgraduate qualification.
