Role &

responsibilities :

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to lead our Mobile Engineering team, responsible for developing next-generation applications for IoT and connected devices. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in native mobile development (Android and iOS), real-time device communication, networking protocols, security, and engineering leadership.

This role requires someone who can build and mentor high-performing engineering teams while driving architecture, scalability, reliability, and product innovation.

Key Responsibilities :

Engineering Leadership :

- Lead and mentor Android and iOS engineering teams.
- Define technical strategy and engineering roadmap.
- Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, coding standards, CI/CD, and best practices.
- Build scalable engineering processes and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers.
- Collaborate with Product, Firmware, Cloud, QA, DevOps, and UX teams to deliver high-quality products.

Technical Architecture :

- Design scalable mobile architectures supporting connected IoT devices.
- Define communication architecture between Mobile Apps, IoT Devices, and Cloud services.
- Establish modular, reusable, and maintainable application frameworks.
- Lead technology decisions and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and platforms.

IoT &

- Connectivity :
- Architect and optimize communication using BLE, Wi-Fi Direct, Peer-to-Peer (P2P), TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, and RTSP/RTP streaming.
- Design reliable device onboarding and provisioning flows.
- Handle network failover, reconnection strategies, and offline-first experiences.
- Optimize low-latency communication and real-time streaming performance.





Performance &

- Reliability :
- Improve application startup time, responsiveness, and battery efficiency.
- Optimize memory usage, network utilization, and video/audio streaming.
- Define monitoring and observability for production applications.
- Lead root cause analysis of production incidents and establish preventive measures.

Delivery &

- Operations :
- Drive Agile delivery across multiple engineering squads.
- Own release management for Android and iOS applications.
- Improve engineering metrics including deployment frequency, crash-free sessions, release quality, and cycle time.
- Collaborate with customer support and operations teams to resolve production issues.

Preferred candidate profile :

Tech Stack :

- Android (Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)
- iOS (Objective C, Swift, SwiftUI)
- Mobile application architecture (MVVM / Clean Architecture)

IoT &

- Networking :
- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, RTSP/RTP, Peer-to-Peer communication, Wi-Fi provisioning, Device discovery, Network diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Leadership Expectations :

- Build and scale high-performing engineering teams.

Preferred Experience :

- IoT, Connected Devices, Smart Home, Security Cameras, Automotive, EV, Industrial IoT, or Healthcare Devices.
- Experience with live video or audio streaming.
- Large-scale consumer mobile applications.
- Device provisioning and OTA firmware update workflows.
- Mobile applications communicating directly with embedded devices over local networks.
- Building products requiring low-latency, real-time communication.

Desired Candidate Profile :

- 12 - 18 years of software engineering experience with significant mobile development expertise.
- 5 years leading engineering teams or engineering managers.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and networking.
- Proven experience designing scalable mobile architectures.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex IoT or connected-device products.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead from both a strategic and hands-on technical perspective.
