Role Description The Pastry Chef is a full-time, on-site role based at Hide-In’s property in Udaipur. This role is responsible for planning, preparing, and baking a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for guests, with a focus on consistent quality, taste, and presentation. Day-to-day tasks include producing pastries and bakery items, managing ingredient inventory, maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, and collaborating with the kitchen team to develop recent menu items.
The Pastry
Chef will work closely with management to support guest satisfaction, adapt offerings to seasonal and regional preferences, and ensure timely service for breakfast, café, and special events. The role also involves occasional guest interaction, such as explaining menu items or supporting small workshops or tasting events.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong culinary skills, including Cooking and general Culinary Skills.
- Candidates should possess specialized pastry and dessert skills, including Baking and Bakery experience.
- Candidates should possess solid Food Preparation skills, including handling ingredients, portioning, and maintaining food safety standards.
- Prior experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or in a professional kitchen or café environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and ability to maintain a clean, organized workstation.
- Creativity in developing new pastry items, attention to detail in presentation, and a guest-focused mindset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and to collaborate effectively in a diverse team.
- Culinary diploma or certification in baking and pastry arts is an advantage but not mandatory.
