Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Security
Ensure the safety and security of hostel residents.
Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access.
Conduct regular inspections of hostel premises to maintain a secure workplace.
Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents and implement necessary actions.
Resident Welfare
Foster a welcoming, positive, and supportive living atmosphere for residents.
Provide emotional support and address personal or interpersonal issues raised by residents.
Mediate conflicts among residents and encourage peaceful resolutions.
Rules and Discipline
Enforce hostel rules and regulations to maintain discipline.
Educate residents about hostel policies and set transparent expectations.
Address violations of rules through appropriate corrective or disciplinary actions.
Administrative Duties
Maintain up-to-date records of residents, including their personal details, attendance, and any incidents.
Coordinate check-in, room allocation,
and check-out processes for residents.
Liaise with hostel management and other departments for smooth administration.
Health and Safety
Conduct regular checks to ensure the hostel meets health and safety standards.
Educate residents about fire safety and evacuation procedures.
Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations by coordinating with relevant authorities.
Guidance and Counseling
Offer guidance to residents dealing with academic, emotional, or personal challenges.
Refer residents to professional counseling or support services when necessary.
Act as a mentor to create a nurturing and engaging setting.
Emergency Preparedness
Prepare and implement emergency response plans.
Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services during crises.
Train residents in basic emergency protocols and procedures.
