Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain IBM AIX operating systems
Perform AIX OS upgrades, patching, and fixes (TL/SP)
Manage LPARs, HMC, and PowerVM settings
Monitor system performance and capacity planning
Handle user administration, security, and access control
Perform system backups and recovery using mksysb, NIM, Tivoli/TSM
Troubleshoot system, performance, and hardware-related issues
Perform root cause analysis and document incidents
Provide support during planned activities and outages
Participate in 24x7 support and on-call rotations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Technical Skills:
Solid experience with IBM AIX (6.1 / 7.1 / 7.2) Hands-on experience with LPAR
HMC
PowerVM Expertise in NIM server/client configuration Knowledge of mksysb
altdiskinstall
SMIT Experience with VIOS management Basic knowledge of SAN storage (LUNs
multipathing) Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP
