Role Description The Nursing Superintendent at KVR Hospital is a full-time, on-site role based in Haldwani, responsible for overseeing and coordinating all nursing services within the hospital. The role includes supervising nursing staff, planning duty rosters, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

The Nursing

Superintendent monitors infection control practices, evaluates nursing performance, organizes training and skill development, and supports implementation of hospital policies and accreditation requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve collaborating with medical and administrative teams, managing nursing resources and supplies, addressing patient and family concerns related to nursing care,



and preparing reports on nursing operations and quality indicators. The position requires hands-on leadership on the hospital floors, active participation in clinical rounds, and timely decision-making in routine and emergency situations.

Qualifications

- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with proven experience in managing nursing teams and coordinating hospital nursing operations.
- Solid clinical expertise in nursing practices, patient care standards, infection control, and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to develop and implement nursing protocols, maintain documentation, and support quality improvement and accreditation processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and multiple priorities.
- Minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or equivalent; a Master’s Degree in Nursing or Hospital Administration is an advantage.
- Valid nursing registration with the appropriate regulatory body and several years of experience in a senior nursing role, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Commitment to ethical practice, compassionate care, continuous learning, and mentoring junior nursing staff.
