Our client is one of the leading MNC in the maritime industry with a solid international client base and offices around the globe. To support the growth strategy and its expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Marine Operations Manager (to manage Bulk vessels).
We are looking to connect with an experienced Master Mariner who has already made the transition from sea to shore and has built a strong track record in shore-based marine operations.
ORGANISATION : This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the operational side of shipping — providing guidance on complex situations, working across vessel and shore teams, understanding the commercial impact of operational decisions, and turning lessons from incidents into better ways of working. This is not a conventional vessel-supervision position. It offers broad exposure across marine operations, fleet performance, incident management, claims and commercial stakeholders, with the opportunity to influence how operational lessons are translated into stronger practices across the business.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY :
- Acting as a senior marine point of reference for Masters and shore-based teams on operational matters
- Reviewing vessel and voyage information and providing guidance to support secure and effective cargo operations
- Working alongside technical and operational colleagues to identify opportunities to improve vessel and fleet performance
- Taking ownership of investigations when things don't go as planned — from cargo-related issues to vessel and equipment incidents
- Looking beyond the immediate incident to establish root causes, strengthen procedures and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Working with vessel owners, insurers and other external stakeholders when operational issues develop into claims
- Bringing a practical commercial perspective to marine decisions and balancing operational, customer and business considerations
YOUR PROFILE :
- Master Mariner with strong seagoing experience on Bulk carriers is a must
- At least 2 years of relevant shore-based experience in marine operations
- Strong understanding of vessel operations, cargo movements and marine risk
- Comfortable assessing incidents, getting to the facts and engaging with multiple stakeholders
- Good commercial understanding, ideally gained through exposure to the commercial side of shipping
- Confident communicator who can provide sound judgement to both vessel and office-based teams
THE OFFER :
- Join one of the leading companies in the industry
- A well-defined role with wide career opportunities to grow further within the organization.
- A competitive remuneration package
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Please apply with an updated resume. All applications will be treated as strictly confidential. Our team will review your application and a consultant will get in touch with you if you meet the client’s selection criteria.
