Tool Room

Operations

- Manage day-to-day activities of the Tool Room and allocate work to tool makers and technicians.

- Plan and monitor new tool/mold development, modification and repair activities.

- Ensure tooling is available as per production and new product development requirements.

- Maintain proper tool identification, history and maintenance records.

2. Mold &

- Tool Maintenance

- Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of molds, dies, fixtures and tooling.

- Troubleshoot mold-related problems and minimize production downtime.

- Handle mold cleaning, polishing, fitting, alignment, correction and refurbishment.

- Analyze recurring tooling failures and implement corrective actions.

3. New Tool / Mold Development

- Coordinate new mold and tool development from design to manufacturing and trials.

- Review drawings and provide inputs for manufacturability and maintenance.

- Coordinate with Tool Design, Production, Quality and Engineering teams.

- Support mold trials and implement required corrections/modifications.

4. Machining &

- Tool Making

- Supervise machining operations such as CNC, VMC, EDM, Wire EDM, milling, turning, grinding and surface finishing.

- Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality of tools and mold components.

- Monitor tool-room machines, measuring instruments and equipment.

Production

Support





- Provide immediate technical support for tooling-related production problems.

- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to resolve dimensional, flash, leakage, sticking, mismatch and other mold-related issues.

- Work towards reducing mold breakdowns, rejection and production downtime.

6. Team Management

- Lead, guide and train Tool Makers, Technicians and Operators.

- Allocate jobs according to skill and priority.

- Monitor productivity, quality, attendance and performance of the Tool Room team.

- Develop skill matrices and training plans for team members.

7. Vendor &

- Cost Management

- Coordinate with external tool/mold manufacturers and repair vendors.

- Evaluate vendor performance on quality, cost and delivery.

- Control tooling repair and development costs.

- Maintain adequate stock of critical tool-room spares and consumables.

8. Quality &

- Documentation

- Maintain tool history cards, preventive maintenance records, repair records and modification records.

- Ensure tooling meets approved drawings, specifications and dimensional requirements.

- Support ISO/IATF/quality audits related to Tool Room activities.

- Implement 5S, Kaizen, TPM and continuous improvement activities.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
