Job Title: Manager / Senior Manager – Plant HR Operations
Department: Human Resources

Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Plant HR Operations professional to manage end-to-end HR activities at the manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to workforce management, factory compliance, contract labour management, employee relations, administration, safety coordination, TQM/Kaizen practices, and daily HR reporting.
The candidate must be comfortable working closely with shop-floor employees and plant leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant HR Operations
• Manage complete day-to-day HR operations for the manufacturing plant.
• Handle employee lifecycle activities including joining, induction, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit processes.
• Ensure smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures across the plant.
• Act as a key HR point of contact for employees, supervisors, department heads, and plant management.
2. Workforce & Team Management
• Manage and monitor blue-collar, white-collar, and contract workforce.
• Ensure optimum manpower deployment as per production and operational requirements.
• Handle workforce planning, absenteeism, attrition, overtime, and shift management.
• Ensure effective team handling and coordination across different departments.
3. Contract Labour Management
• Manage end-to-end contract labour operations.
• Coordinate with manpower contractors and vendors.
• Monitor contractor compliance, attendance, deployment, wages, statutory documentation, and billing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable contract labour regulations and company policies.
4. Factory Compliance & Statutory Requirements
• Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, Factory Act requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Maintain statutory registers, employee records, licences,
and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and government authorities during inspections.
• Ensure timely compliance related to PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, CLRA, and other applicable labour laws.
5. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
• Maintain healthy employee relations across the plant.
• Address employee grievances and workplace concerns effectively.
• Support disciplinary actions and ensure adherence to plant rules and policies.
• Coordinate with supervisors, employees, and union representatives, wherever applicable.
• Promote a disciplined, productive, and positive work workplace.
6. Administration & Facilities Management
• Oversee plant administration and employee welfare activities.
• Coordinate facilities management including housekeeping, transportation, security, canteen, and other employee services.
• Ensure proper vendor coordination and service quality.
• Maintain smooth administrative operations at the plant.
7. Safety Management Coordination
• Work closely with the EHS/Safety team to promote safety awareness.
• Support implementation of plant safety policies and employee safety initiatives.
• Ensure employee participation in safety training and awareness programs.
• Support investigation and corrective action for workplace incidents from an HR and employee perspective.
8. TQM, Kaizen & Continuous Improvement
• Support and promote TQM, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Encourage employee participation in improvement programs.
• Coordinate with plant teams for productivity and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain records and reports related to employee participation and improvement activities.
9. Daily Reporting & MIS
• Prepare and share daily HR and manpower reports with management.
• Track key parameters including:
- Manpower strength
- Attendance and absenteeism
- Overtime
- Attrition
- Contract manpower
- Recruitment status
- Employee grievances
- Compliance status
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to plant and corporate management.
Required Candidate Profile
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Plant HR Operations.
• Mandatory experience in a manufacturing / factory environment.
• Strong exposure to contract labour management and workforce management.
• Good understanding of factory compliance and labour laws.
• Experience in handling employee relations and industrial relations.
• Exposure to plant administration and facilities management.
• Knowledge of TQM, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement practices will be preferred.
• Strong leadership and team handling capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant environment.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Plant HR professional with 8+ years of manufacturing experience, capable of independently managing HR operations, workforce, compliance, contract labour, employee relations, administration, and daily reporting while working closely with plant leadership and shop-floor teams.
