Job Summary The Manager (Purchase) will be responsible to lead procurement of electronic components and mechanical parts from local sources and imports, and to manage relationships with OEM partners for finished products. The role requires strong negotiation skills, deep knowledge of electronic and mechanical component sourcing, import/customs processes, and the ability to build reliable, cost-effective, and quality-compliant supply chains.

The Purchase

Manager will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance to ensure uninterrupted material availability while optimizing cost and working capital.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute procurement of electronic components (ICs, PCBs, connectors, passives, etc.) and mechanical parts (sheet metal, machined components, fasteners, plastics, etc.)



from local and international sources.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and OEM partners; conduct supplier audits/assessments for capability, quality, and financial stability.
- Manage the complete import procurement cycle — vendor coordination, Incoterms, documentation (BOE, LC, invoices), customs clearance, freight forwarding, and logistics coordination with CHA/freight partners.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and long-term contracts/rate agreements with suppliers and OEMs to optimize total cost of ownership.
- Coordinate with Design/Engineering during new product development (NPD) for component sourcing, alternate part approvals, and cost optimization.
- Track and mitigate component shortages, long lead-time items, and single-source risks, especially for electronic components; build alternate sourcing and contingency plans.
- Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and responsiveness; drive corrective actions for non conformances in coordination with the Quality team.
- Work with Planning/Production to align procurement schedules with production plans and minimize stock outs or excess inventory.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, statutory/regulatory requirements (customs, RoHS/REACH where applicable), and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain and update purchase records, vendor master data, rate contracts, and PO status in the SAP system.
- Prepare and present periodic procurement reports — cost savings, vendor performance, open PO status, and import pipeline — to management.
- Lead, guide,



and develop the purchase team, ensuring smooth day-to-day procure-to-pay operations.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering (Electronics/Mechanical/Electrical) or Supply Chain/Materials Management; MBA or PG diploma in Materials/Supply Chain Management is a plus.
- 10-12 years of experience in procurement/purchase roles, with hands-on exposure to electronic component sourcing and mechanical parts procurement.
- Proven experience in handling import procurement — documentation, customs procedures, Incoterms, and logistics coordination; knowledge of import-export regulations, customs tariff classification (HSN codes), and foreign exchange exposure management.
- Experience working with OEMs for finished/traded products, including contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Robust negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP/MRP system for purchase order management and reporting.
- Good understanding of BOM structures, component datasheets/specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills to work with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance teams.
- Knowledge of import-export regulations, customs tariff classification (HSN codes), and foreign exchange exposure management.
- Prior experience in electronics manufacturing (EMS/ODM/OEM environment).
