About The Job

As a CA-7 Administrator / Scheduler Administrator, you will be responsible for administering and managing CA-7 scheduling environments, including creating and modifying calendars, handling complex scheduling requirements, and managing business-day and holiday schedules. You will work closely with application and production teams to ensure accurate and efficient batch scheduling.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in CA-7 administration, CA-7 calendar management, complex scheduling, and batch scheduling, along with a good understanding of JCL and Mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

- Administer and manage CA-7 scheduling environments and ensure smooth execution of batch schedules.
- Create, modify, and maintain CA-7 calendars based on business and application requirements.
- Add and manage company holidays and define working/non-working days within CA-7 calendars.
- Handle holiday schedules and business-day scheduling requirements.




- Perform complex scheduling changes and ensure dependencies are configured accurately.
- Analyze and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly job streams based on application requirements.
- Monitor scheduled jobs and ensure they execute in the correct sequence and within defined timelines.
- Coordinate with application owners and production teams for scheduling changes and special production requirements.
- Support troubleshooting of batch scheduling issues and production abends.
- Manage ad hoc jobs and special production runs as required.
- Maintain scheduling-related documentation and operational procedures.
- Communicate scheduling changes, issues, and status updates effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

- 6–8 years of experience in CA-7 Administration / Scheduler Administration / Mainframe Scheduling.
- Strong hands-on experience with CA-7 Administration.
- Strong experience creating, modifying, and maintaining CA-7 calendars.
- Experience adding company holidays and defining working/non-working days and business-day schedules.
- Strong experience handling complex scheduling requirements and scheduling changes.
- Hands-on experience with batch monitoring and scheduling in a production environment.
- Good knowledge of JCL and Mainframe batch processing.
- Experience troubleshooting batch scheduling issues and production abends.
- Knowledge of TSO, ISPF, FileAID, IBM Fault Analyzer, and SPOOL.




- Good understanding of Unix/Linux environments and Shell Scripting.
- Knowledge or experience with Endevor or other version control tools.
- Knowledge or experience with ServiceNow or similar service management applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with application, production, and business teams.

Good To Have

- Experience with additional scripting capabilities.
- Experience working in a large-scale Mainframe production scheduling environment.
