Job Purpose:
To support the Infrastructure Department in the day-to-day operation, maintenance, monitoring, and execution of infrastructure and utility systems, ensuring reliable facility operations, timely maintenance, safety compliance, and effective coordination with internal departments, contractors, and vendors.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting both Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure activities and will assist in preventive maintenance, breakdown handling, project execution, utility monitoring, documentation, and contractor coordination.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Infrastructure & Utility Maintenance
- Monitor day-to-day operation of plant infrastructure and utility systems.
- Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Conduct routine inspection of utility equipment and infrastructure.
- Identify abnormalities and report breakdowns or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure timely closure of maintenance activities.
B. Mechanical Utilities Candidate should have basic working knowledge of:
- Air Compressors
- Cooling Towers
- Pumps
- Chillers
- Water Supply Systems
- RO / Water Treatment Systems
- HVAC systems
- Fire Fighting Systems
- Piping systems
- Valves and associated mechanical equipment
Responsibilities include routine inspection, operating parameter monitoring, coordination for maintenance and basic troubleshooting. C. Electrical Infrastructure
Candidate should have basic knowledge of:
- LT Electrical Panels
- MCC / Distribution Panels
- DG Sets
- Electrical Motors
- Lighting Systems
- Electrical Distribution
- Basic electrical troubleshooting
- Cable and electrical connection identification
- Electrical safety practices
Assist the senior team in inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical infrastructure. 3. Preventive Maintenance
- Assist in preparation and execution of Preventive Maintenance schedules.
- Carry out routine inspection as per checklist.
- Record operating parameters of equipment.
- Maintain PM records and checklists.
- Follow up on pending maintenance activities.
- Support identification of recurring breakdowns and maintenance issues.
4. Project & Site Execution
- Assist in execution of infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors at site.
- Monitor civil, mechanical and electrical work.
- Check work progress against approved scope.
- Assist in measurement and work verification.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings/specifications.
- Support testing and commissioning activities.
- Maintain project-related documentation and photographs.
5. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and project activities.
- Arrange site visits and work schedules.
- Monitor contractor manpower and work progress.
- Verify completion of assigned work.
- Follow up for pending jobs and service requirements.
- Assist in vendor performance monitoring.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure contractors follow required safety practices.
- Check use of PPE during work.
- Support implementation of Work Permit systems.
- Report unsafe conditions and activities.
- Maintain valuable housekeeping at work locations.
- Assist during safety, statutory and customer audits.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable requirements.

Maintain and update

- Work Completion Reports

- Vendor Records

- Maintenance History

8. Purchase & Material Coordination
- Raise material / spare requirements as instructed.
- Coordinate with Purchase Department for material requirements.
- Follow up on pending materials.
- Verify received materials against requirements.
- Assist in maintaining infrastructure spare inventory.
- Support quotation comparison and technical evaluation where required.
9. Required Technical Skills
- Essential
- Basic knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems
- Understanding of industrial utility equipment
- Basic troubleshooting knowledge
- Preventive maintenance knowledge
- Basic knowledge of electrical safety
- Basic knowledge of pumps, motors, compressors and piping
- Ability to read basic electrical/mechanical drawings
- MS Excel and MS Word knowledge
- Basic documentation and reporting skills
- Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing industry
- Exposure to utility maintenance
- Experience in contractor/vendor coordination
- Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage
- Knowledge of safety procedures and work permits
- Exposure to CAPEX / infrastructure projects
10. Educational Qualification Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech.
Preferred specialization:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in Infrastructure / Facility / Utility / Maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
