We are Hiring: Junior Research Scientist/ Research Scientist – Synthetic Chemistry

Location: Pune | Experience: 2+ years | Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry

At Genotek Biochem, we are building a high-performance chemistry organization focused on solving challenging problems in synthetic and process chemistry for leading companies across the globe.

We work with global partners on Custom Synthesis, FTE and FFS projects, supporting molecules across their lifecycle, from initial concept and route development to process development, scale-up and commercial manufacturing.

We are looking for a Junior Research Scientist/ Research Scientist who is passionate about chemistry, enjoys solving complex synthetic problems and wants to build a strong career in an environment where science, ownership and innovation are valued.

As a Junior Research Scientist/Research Scientist , you will have the opportunity to:

- Design and execute organic synthesis experiments based on project objectives and timelines.
- Work on route development, reaction optimization and process improvement for challenging molecules.
- Analyze reactions and products using appropriate analytical techniques and interpret experimental data.
- Work closely with senior scientists to troubleshoot reactions and develop practical solutions to synthetic challenges.
- Contribute to projects for global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industry partners.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Review scientific literature and apply relevant chemistry concepts to ongoing projects.
- Work within established safety, quality and documentation standards.

Education

- M.Sc. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or a related discipline.




- 2+ years of relevant experience in synthetic chemistry.
- Experience in a CRO, CDMO, discovery chemistry or process chemistry environment will be an advantage.

Technical & Qualified Skills

- Strong fundamentals in synthetic chemistry.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory synthesis and reaction work-up/purification techniques.
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot synthetic chemistry problems.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques and interpretation of analytical data.
- Good scientific documentation and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory safety.
