About The Role We are seeking experienced Backend Java Engineers to join our Sustainment & Enhancement Squad. This role primarily involves supporting, maintaining, and improving integrations with Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS.

The position offers an engaging mix of support-heavy tasks and development responsibilities, with a focus on ensuring the stability and performance of critical backend services. The successful candidates will work in a dynamic environment, troubleshooting complex issues, implementing fixes, and contributing to system enhancements. This is a full-time remote opportunity open to candidates based in India, with shift timings available in the morning and afternoon shifts.

Candidates should be comfortable participating in a shared on-call rotation and be available to join within 30 days or less.

Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates should possess 4 to 7 years of professional experience in Java backend development and production support. A strong hands-on background with Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka is essential.

Candidates should have a solid understanding of REST APIs, service-to-service communication, and distributed backend systems.

Proficiency in SQL and relational databases is required, along with experience debugging and resolving production issues. Familiarity with application logs, monitoring tools, and root cause analysis techniques is important.

Knowledge of integration patterns, testing practices, and cloud platforms is a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently, escalate issues appropriately, and participate actively in on-call support.

Responsibilities In this role, your key responsibilities will include developing a comprehensive understanding of Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS, its APIs, and related integration points. You will monitor and troubleshoot integrations with MFCS and other backend services, analyzing logs, database queries, API responses, and Kafka events to identify issues.

Troubleshooting across multiple services will require diagnosing whether problems originate within applications, databases, or external systems. You will participate in incident resolution, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing Java and Spring Boot applications, including bug fixes, minor feature additions, and performance optimizations.

Developing and maintaining unit and integration tests will be essential to ensure system reliability. Additionally, you will adhere to coding standards, participate in code reviews, and contribute to documentation and monitoring practices.

Collaboration with senior engineers, L3 support teams, and other stakeholders will be crucial when deeper technical investigations or architectural modifications are needed. Participation in on-call support will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring timely communication and escalation of production issues.
