IT Manager | Vantrock Real Assets Private Limited | Mumbai Metropolitan Region
Own the systems a real assets platform runs on — the accounting and business applications, the devices, the network, the security — and implement the ones it does not have yet. One IT manager commanding vendors, not running a department.
A note before you read on. The team structure, reporting lines, direct reports, seat titles and hiring entity described in this brief reflect the platform's current plan and may change as the platform builds out. Compensation and incentive structures are confirmed in the offer, not here.
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer · until that seat is filled, the General Manager — Finance & Accounts · EXPERIENCE: 8–12 years in IT and business-systems management, including at least one ERP or accounting-system implementation you ran
ABOUT VANTROCK
Vantrock is India's independent, operator-led real assets platform — real assets only — with logistics and industrial as the first phase of its growth.
Founded by Anshul Singhal, Founder & CEO, who has built three institutional platforms from zero and is building the fourth on his own capital: 52 million sq ft delivered (32 million as developer, 20 million as contractor), 2,000+ acres acquired, 200+ buildings, two SEBI Category II funds run to a successful close, India's first domestic warehousing AIF and India's largest industrial real estate exit — delivered across the founder's three prior platforms.
THE FINANCE & ACCOUNTS TEAM
Vantrock keeps its books in-house. The finance function owns every number from the site to the board.
Twenty-one seats when fully built; sixteen live now, one of them already filled. Small enough that every person in it is known by name to the founder; large enough to run a platform properly. Every seat in the team is a builder's seat: the function does not exist yet in the form described here, and the people who join it now are the ones who will decide what it becomes.
THE OPERATING LAYER HAS AN OWNER
Vantrock runs on its dashboards. Models, trackers, the close calendar, the Asset Review pack, the matter tracker — all of it lives on the platform's operating layer, and the platform's own intelligence arm builds the tools that sit on top.
But somebody has to own the layer underneath: the accounting and business applications and their implementation; the devices every person works on; the network in the office and at every site; the identities, access and security that keep a finance function's data where it belongs; the licences, the vendors and the budget.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS A finance function of twenty-one seats keeping its books in-house needs an accounting system implemented properly, integrated with the platform's dashboards, secured, backed up and supported — before the first month-end runs on it. A platform with sites to open in four cities needs each one connected and equipped on the day it does. And a company built to run on technology needs someone whose job is that the technology runs.
None of that exists yet as a function. This seat is it.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- The accounting and business systems. The finance function's system of record — selected with the Chief Financial Officer and the General Manager, implemented on a plan you run, integrated with the platform's operating layer, and supported after go-live.
- Implementations. Every system the platform adopts taken from decision to daily use:
requirements with the function head, vendor selection, configuration, data migration, testing, training, cut-over, hyper-care.
- Devices, network and sites. Every person equipped and connected; the office and every project site on a network that works; new sites live on the day they open.
- Identity, access and security. Who can see what, enforced in the systems, not in a policy document.
- Vendors and licences. The IT vendors, the software licences, the support contracts — scoped, negotiated, held to their service levels, and inside the budget you own.
- Support. The first call when something does not work, and a standard for how quick it is fixed — with the platform's intelligence arm as your partner for anything that touches the product layer.
- The technology roadmap. A written, budgeted view of what the platform will need in twelve and twenty-four months, refreshed each quarter with the Chief Financial Officer.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ESSENTIAL
– 8–12 years in IT management and business systems, of which a meaningful part at a mid-sized company where you were the IT function, not a member of one.
– At least one ERP or accounting-system implementation run end to end by you — requirements to hyper-care — for a finance team that then used it. This will be discussed in detail.
– Devices, networks, identity and access, and information security managed for a distributed business — more than one office or site.
– Vendor and licence management as the client: scoping, negotiating, service levels, budget.
– Comfortable with a finance function's requirements — you can talk to a controller about a chart of accounts and to a payables head about approval workflows.
– Hands-on when needed, and honest about what you do not know.
– Based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
– Not a software-development seat. The platform's product and AI tools are built by its intelligence arm; this seat runs the layer they sit on.
– Not a helpdesk seat. Support is part of the job; the implementations and the security are the job.
– Not a large-team management seat. You command vendors; you do not manage a department.
HOW YOU WILL WORK
– Outsource the doing, own the outcome. Vendors implement and support; you command them and are accountable for the result.
– Everything runs on the platform's dashboards. The asset register, the licence log, the ticket queue and the roadmap live on the operating layer.
– Judgment is written down. Every implementation has a plan and a sign-off; every access change has a record; every incident has a cause.
– Mumbai Metropolitan Region, full-time, in person, with travel to sites.
COMPENSATION
Vantrock benchmarks compensation against the upper quartile for the role and market, weighted toward equity for candidates who want to build with us long-term. We discuss specific numbers in the first conversation rather than anchoring either side prematurely.
Wealth creation is part of the engine, not only the salary: a performance-linked annual bonus,
and a path to ESOP-linked incentives as the seat grows — priced to the seat and confirmed in the offer.
CULTURAL FIT
We're building Vantrock over a decade, not a funding cycle. We're looking for people who treat technology as the default answer rather than a supplement, who want to be co-builders of the platform rather than employees executing instructions, and who are comfortable saying "I don't know" and "I was wrong." If you want a defined role with defined edges, this isn't the right seat. If you want to help build an institution from zero, it might be.
AI proficiency is a standing requirement in every Vantrock seat. You work fluently with AI tools for research, modelling, drafting and analysis, and you build on the platform's dashboards rather than around them. A supervised AI Proficiency Test is part of the process for every seat, at every level of seniority, and we say so openly.
Partner command is the second standing requirement. The books are ours, but auditors, banks, the fund administrator, valuers, law firms and system vendors are commanded by this team — briefed, held to a standard, integrated — never deferred to. We hire for judgment and accountability.
HOW WE WILL ASSESS
Everyone who applies hears from us within two working days. It carries two links: a fixed set of six questions answered by AI interview — about forty minutes, and the first work sample; we review it before the CV — and the Vantrock AI Proficiency Test, which every hire takes at every level. From there:
- The Implementation conversation. The ERP or accounting system you implemented: the plan, what went wrong at cut-over, what the finance team said six months later. With the General Manager — Finance & Accounts, or the Chief Financial Officer once in seat.
- A 90-minute supervised case. A brief for a finance function of twenty seats going live on a new accounting system in ninety days, across a head office and two sites — from which you produce the implementation plan, the access model and the three risks that would derail it. Reviewed with the General Manager and the Founder & CEO.
- References. Two, contacted directly: one former reporting manager and one finance-function user of a system you implemented.
Once we have received your application, your AI interview and your test, we will reach out with next steps. Your application is confidential: it is seen only by the Founder's Office and the hiring lead, and nothing is shared with your current employer or referenced without your consent.
TO APPLY
Write to
[email protected] with the subject line "IT Manager — [your name]", and attach:
– Your CV. This is mandatory — a LinkedIn profile alone is not an application; we will read your LinkedIn as well.
– Your Systems Sheet — one row per system you implemented or ran: system, function served, users, your role, year, outcome. The template is available on request.
– Your notice period and what you would need to see to move.
– One short paragraph: the mistake most companies make in the first thirty days of an accounting-system implementation, and how you would stop this one making it. That paragraph matters more than the CV.
We read everything that arrives with a Systems Sheet and a paragraph — properly, not skimmed. If this sounds like your seat, write to us.
We don't hire roles. We build the platform. · Ownership, not employment. · Builders hire builders.
