Key Responsibilities

- Client Consultation: Meet clients to discuss their goals, style preferences, functional needs, and budgets.

- Space Planning: Develop initial sketches, floor plans, and 3D layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

- Material Selection: Choose lighting, furniture, flooring, wall finishes, and color schemes.

- Project Management: Estimate costs, set timelines, and ensure work stays within budget.

- Contractor Coordination: Hire and supervise vendors, general contractors, and craftspeople like electricians and carpenters.

- Code Compliance: Ensure all plans meet local building safety codes and accessibility standards. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Education:



A bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or 3D Max.

- Creative Vision: Strong artistic ability, visualization skills, and a sense of style.

- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to present ideas and manage client relationships.

- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle construction delays or material shortages on site. [
