Industrial Engineer – Textile/Garment Manufacturing

Position: Industrial Engineer

Department: Industrial Engineering / Production

Experience: 5–6 Years

Industry: Textile / Garment Manufacturing

Reporting To: G.M. Operations

Location: Hosiery Complex, Noida.

Job Purpose To drive manufacturing productivity and operational efficiency by optimizing manpower, machine utilization, production processes, SMV/SAM, line balancing, capacity, and workflow. The role will focus on identifying production losses and implementing measurable improvements in efficiency, output, quality, and manufacturing cost.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct Time Study, Method Study, Work Measurement, and establish accurate SMV/SAM for garment operations.
- Prepare operation breakdowns, process sheets, and standard work instructions.
- Perform line balancing to optimize manpower, machine allocation, and production flow.
- Calculate production capacity, manpower requirements, and machine requirements based on order volume and delivery plans.
- Set and monitor hourly/daily production targets based on SMV, working hours, manpower, and achievable efficiency.
- Monitor line efficiency, operator efficiency, production output, machine utilization, downtime, and bottlenecks.
- Identify constraints and implement corrective actions to improve production flow and throughput.
- Analyze idle time, waiting time, excess motion, rework, rejection, and other production losses.
- Optimize manpower allocation and support workforce planning.
- Review production layouts and material flow to reduce movement, handling, and non-value-added activities.




- Work closely with Production, Quality, PPC, Maintenance, Merchandising, and Cutting/Finishing teams to resolve operational issues.
- Support new style/product introduction through operation breakdown, SMV calculation, capacity planning, and line allocation.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA, 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis, and waste-reduction initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process modification, and productivity improvement.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly IE performance reports and dashboards.
- Support management in achieving productivity, efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in Textile/Garment Manufacturing, preferably in a production/IE function.
- Strong practical knowledge of SMV/SAM, Time Study, Method Study, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, and Manpower Planning.
- Good understanding of garment manufacturing processes, particularly Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, and Packing.
- Hands-on experience in production efficiency improvement and bottleneck analysis.




- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and production data analysis.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team-coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in export-oriented garment manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Power BI or production dashboard experience.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of garment sewing machines, operations, and production methods.
- Ability to work independently on the shop floor and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, data-driven, and improvement-oriented Industrial Engineer who can convert production data into practical actions and measurable business results. Candidates with demonstrated achievements in increasing line efficiency, reducing manpower, improving SMV/SAM, increasing output, reducing cycle time, or generating measurable cost savings will be preferred.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
