The candidate will be responsible for financial accounting, standalone and consolidated financial reporting, monthly MIS, budgeting, taxation, bookkeeping, month-end closing and coordination of statutory and tax audits.
The role requires solid technical accounting knowledge, analytical ability and hands-on experience in managing end-to-end finance activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping
Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepaid expenses and other accounting adjustments.
Maintain and review the General Ledger and sub-ledgers.
Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of bank, vendor, customer and inter-company balances.
Review balance sheet schedules and ensure adequate supporting documentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and NBFC requirements.
2. Month-End & Year-End Closing
Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities.
Review GL balances and ensure all required accruals, provisions, depreciation and adjustments are recorded.
Perform GL scrutiny and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Ensure timely completion of reconciliations and closing schedules.
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for management and audit purposes.
3. Standalone & Consolidated Financial Statements
Prepare and review standalone financial statements and related schedules.
Lead preparation of consolidated financial statements.
Coordinate with group entities/subsidiaries for consolidation data.
Perform inter-company reconciliation and elimination entries.
Prepare consolidation workings and required disclosures.
Coordinate with auditors for financial statement finalization.
4. Monthly MIS & Financial Analysis
Prepare accurate and timely monthly MIS for senior management.
Prepare and analyze P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow and key financial reports.
Compare actual performance with budget, forecast and previous periods.
Perform variance analysis and highlight significant movements.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
Coordinate with business and functional teams for budget preparation.
Prepare revenue, operating expense, profitability and cash flow budgets.
Monitor actual performance against approved budgets.
Conduct budget variance analysis and prepare management commentary.
Support periodic forecasting and financial projections.
6. GST & TDS Compliance
Manage timely preparation and filing of applicable GST returns.
Review GST workings, input tax credit and output tax liability.
Reconcile GST returns with books of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Review TDS applicability, deductions and accounting.
Ensure timely filing of TDS returns and reconciliation of TDS balances.
Coordinate with tax consultants and authorities on GST/TDS queries and notices.
7. Taxation & Tax Audit
Support direct tax compliance, tax computations and advance tax workings.
Coordinate with tax consultants on income-tax matters.
Manage preparation of schedules and information required for tax audits.
Coordinate with tax auditors and resolve audit queries.
Ensure timely completion and closure of tax audit requirements.
8. Statutory Audit & Audit Closure
Coordinate the annual statutory audit process.
Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents.
Act as the key finance contact for statutory auditors.
Respond to audit queries and coordinate with internal teams for resolution.
Track outstanding audit points and ensure timely closure.
Assist in finalization of financial statements and audit reports.
9. NBFC Finance & Regulatory Reporting
Ensure appropriate accounting of NBFC-specific transactions such as loans/advances, interest income, interest expenses and provisions, as applicable.
Ensure financial reporting is aligned with applicable NBFC regulations and accounting requirements.
Coordinate with treasury, operations, risk and compliance teams on finance-related matters.
Support regulatory and management reporting requirements.
Monitor changes in accounting and regulatory requirements and assess their impact on finance processes.
10. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Maintain strong financial controls across accounting and reporting processes.
Identify control gaps and implement corrective measures.
Develop and improve finance SOPs and reporting processes.
Improve efficiency and accuracy through automation and process standardization.
Support internal audits and implementation of agreed corrective actions.
11. Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with the CFO, Finance Head, business teams, operations, treasury, compliance, auditors and tax consultants.
Provide timely financial information and analysis to senior management.
Resolve finance, accounting and taxation-related issues in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Guide and review the work of junior finance team members, where applicable.
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
- 5+ years of experience
- In-depth knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, GST, Income Tax, etc.
- Proficient in Tally and MS Excel
- Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills
Work Schedule:
- 5 days/week
- Timings: As per operations (typically 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
