About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head – Transport & Fleet Operations to independently manage and improve our end-to-end transportation business.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing 100+ commercial trucks, preferably 32-ft SXL / similar heavy commercial vehicles, along with strong expertise in fleet operations, driver management, cost control, MIS and Profit & Loss (P&L;).

This is a senior, ownership-driven position. The person will be responsible not only for vehicle movement, but also for the overall operational and financial performance of the transport business.

Key Responsibilities

*Manage end-to-end operations of a fleet of 100+ trucks across Pan-India routes.

- Take complete responsibility for fleet utilization, placement, dispatch, transit and delivery performance.
- Manage drivers, supervisors, operations executives, dispatch staff and other transport-related manpower.
- Handle driver recruitment, allocation, attendance, performance, discipline and retention.
- Prepare and monitor vehicle-wise, route-wise and overall business P&L.;
- Track revenue, freight income and all major operating expenses.
- Control diesel consumption, mileage, FASTag/toll, tyres, maintenance, repairs, driver expenses and other trip costs.
- Identify unnecessary expenses, leakages and operational inefficiencies and implement cost-saving measures.
- Improve truck utilization and reduce idle time, empty kilometres and vehicle detention.
- Monitor preventive maintenance, breakdowns, tyres and vehicle fitness to maximize fleet uptime.
- Develop and monitor KPIs including revenue per truck, cost/km, revenue/km, mileage, utilization %, empty km %, maintenance cost and profit per vehicle.
- Prepare daily,



weekly and monthly MIS and management reports.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, expenses, vehicle performance and profitability.
- Coordinate with customers, drivers, vendors, workshops and internal teams.
- Handle operational escalations and ensure timely resolution of vehicle/driver/customer issues.
- Ensure compliance related to permits, insurance, fitness, pollution certificates and other statutory vehicle documentation.
- Build systems and SOPs so that the transport operation can run efficiently with strong management control.
- Report directly to the owner/management with clear information on profitability, problems, risks and improvement opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in Transport / Logistics / Fleet Operations preferred.
- Proven experience independently managing a large fleet, preferably 100+ commercial vehicles.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in 32-ft SXL trucks and Pan-India transportation.
- Strong understanding of transport business P&L; and vehicle-level profitability.
- Excellent knowledge of diesel management, route costing, fleet maintenance, driver management and operational cost control.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, MIS and fleet/transport management systems.
- Ability to lead a large team of drivers and operations staff.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Must be comfortable working from our Bakipur Village / Pataudi Road, Gurugram location.
- Candidates who have only handled coordination/dispatch without P&L; and fleet ownership responsibility will not be suitable.

The right candidate should be capable of taking ownership of the operation — from drivers and trucks to staff, costs, utilization and final profitability — and should be able to clearly tell management:
