Role Description The Head Transformer Design is a full time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for leading the end-to-end design and engineering of power and distribution transformers across Cast Resin, Dry Type, Oil Cooled, and Resin Impregnated configurations. In this role, the individual will oversee transformer design calculations, core and winding design, insulation coordination, and loss optimization, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and customer specifications. The position involves guiding a design team, reviewing and approving drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation, and collaborating closely with production, quality, and sales teams to support manufacturing and customer solutions.





The Head Transformer

Design will participate in design reviews, support testing and validation, troubleshoot design and performance issues, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, reliability, and noise reduction. The role also includes involvement in vendor technical evaluations, supporting cost optimization initiatives, and contributing to R&D; efforts for new product development.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in transformer design and engineering, including core design, winding configurations, insulation systems, and thermal performance for Cast Resin, Dry Type, Oil Cooled, and Resin Impregnated transformers.
- Proficiency in electrical calculations, magnetic circuit analysis, short-circuit and load loss calculations, and familiarity with relevant IEC/IS/IEEE standards for transformer design and testing.
- Experience using CAD and engineering software tools for transformer layout, 2D/3D drawings, and technical documentation, along with good skills in preparing schematics and design reports.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor design teams, manage multiple projects, coordinate with production and quality functions, and work effectively with suppliers and customers.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes for transformers, including core stacking, winding, resin casting, impregnation, and quality assurance practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability, efficiency, and cost
