Role & responsibilities A large Indian metals producer is setting up a carbon steel line at its integrated plant in Odisha and is looking for a leader to own the Steel Melting Shop end to end from commissioning and ramp-up through to secure, cost-competitive production.

Preferred candidate profile

- Own SMS operations converter/BOF, secondary refining, continuous casting
- Drive commissioning and ramp-up to rated capacity on schedule
- Deliver on tap-to-tap time, yield, refractory life, energy and conversion cost
- Manage hot metal variability and grade consistency across shifts
- Build and lead the shop team; work with OEM and project partners through stabilisation
- Own safety, statutory compliance and shop-floor discipline
- BE/B.Tech (Metallurgy preferred)
- Long-run career in integrated steel plant operations, with SMS ownership at senior level
- BOF/converter route exposure strongly preferred
- Proven commissioning or ramp-up experience in a new or expanded shop
- Willing to be based in the Odisha plant belt with family
