The GST Litigation Manager oversees the end-to-end management of Goods and Services Tax (GST) disputes, audits, and departmental proceedings. This role requires strong expertise in indirect tax law, exceptional legal drafting, and strategic representation before tax authorities and appellate forums.

Key Responsibilities

- Notice &
- Audit Management:

Review and analyze scrutiny notices, audit findings, and Show Cause Notices (SCNs). Draft detailed, legally sound replies and written submissions.

- Appeals &

- Representation:

Formulate litigation strategies and prepare appeal documentation for Appellate Authorities and Appellate Tribunals (GSTAT). Represent the company/clients during departmental hearings and assessments.

- Legal &

- Jurisprudence Research:

Conduct in-depth legal research on case laws, judicial precedents, circulars, and notifications to support legal positions.

- Data &

- ITC Reconciliation:

Partner with finance and accounting teams to review Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliations, revenue matching (GSTR-1, 3B, 2A/2B), and identify potential risk areas prior to audits.





- Counsel &

- Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with external legal advisors or senior advocates for high-stakes litigation, writ petitions, or complex appellate matters.

- Compliance &

- Advisory:

Track changes in GST legislation and advise internal teams on risk-mitigation measures to avoid potential disputes.

Required Qualifications &

- Competencies

- Education &
- Credentials:

Qualified CA, LLB, or CMA qualification.

- Experience: Proven experience managing indirect tax litigation within a law firm, Big 4/consulting firm, or mid-to-large corporate tax department.

- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of GST statutory provisions, procedures, ITC regulations, valuation rules, and cross-border transactions.

- Core Skills: Advanced legal drafting skills, analytical capability in handling large financial data, and robust communication skills for representing cases before tax authorities
